Adobe PremierI have used this software many times during the production course by bringing all the elements of certain products together. The main product being the five minute documentary, and the Radio Advert, were constructed using this software, as I think it has many useful ways of editing, to create a professional piece of work. It is very good a picking at specific details such as sound, as you are able to control whether you want the volume to be high or low. By using the brackets in the sequence box, this allows basic cutting i.e. a certain question from an interview. These brackets allow you to stop and start cutting where and when you most need, and allows you get it by the second e.g. for our opening title we cut out our hands placing down the sweets, so that you could only see the sweets appearing. By being precise this gave the documentary a professional effect, I also used these brackets to help me cut certain parts of songs into the music bed of the documentary, it was most helpful as I could stop it at just the right place. It also enables you to create text by pressing the ‘Ctrl’ button then ‘T’, as a small box will appear and then you are able to use this for the graphics i.e. Names on the interviewee’s. I thought it was very easy to use as there was a media browse box on the left hand side, so I could search for the necessary footage needed. I have enjoyed using this software as it I the best way of editing footage, and making it look as professional as possible.

PhotoshopThis software was most useful when creating the Print Advert. The cut tool was very effective as it allows you to cut around an image and then the erase tool can go around the edges to give it a professional cut. However with the final version of the Print Advert, we needed to cut out the whole image, so we used the square cut out tool to make it much easier. We also used the paint brush by zooming in and colouring around certain parts of the models teeth. It can also change the opacity of the colouring, so that you can still see a bit of the image underneath (This gave the teeth a more decayed and disgusting effect). Cutting around the channel four sign was probably the most hardest part as it had to be precise and a clean cut, also finding the letters from other print adverts to use on our own took a lot of time, and it was difficult to get them in the same shape. Overall this software is a great way to design Pint Adverts, as it has the necessary tools to give I a professional look. And by using these new technologies, the products come together to create a coherent package.

Ice Radio Studio

The ice radio studio in my school, is compacted will brilliant technology. The equipment such as the microphone and headset has made the voice over and radio advert sound very professional, as there is no noise in the background, so the voice over came out loud and clear.

HD video Camera, Tripod and SLR Camera.

In the construction and making of the production we used a HD video camera, tripod, and SLR camera. By using this high definition new technology, were able to capture professional footage. The tripod was used to keep the camera still and steady when focusing on our interviewee’s and was able to get still footage of the mise-en-scene. The tripod was also used to create cut aways as it can be turned from side to side and tilted up or down.. With out the tripod the camera work would be unsteady and the footage would be blurred. The video camera was able to capture creative moments and was well focused. And the SLR camera was used to take good images for our print advert and some cut aways.

MicrophonesThere were to different microphones used, a camera mounted microphone and a wired microphone. The wired microphone was plugged into the camera, this ensured that all interviews were clear, and that there is no background noise. The mounted microphone was used especially for the Voxpops, as this stopped any background noise from interfering with the individuals voices.

Xtranormal

Xtranormal is online software that allows you turn you words into an animated movie. This is have used a few times throughout my course, and I have found it very easy to use. It also allows you to choose different mise-en-scenes, back ground music, type of voice, characters, and different camera angles. I have used this as it is a good way of representing new technologies within my work.
