Q4 – How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?BloggerThis was a important platform in every stage of my production. It provides a place for my work to be uploaded and viewed by my tutors outside of school; with the comments section allowing them to give me regular feedback. This meant I could make the suggested amendments and create the most successful piece of media that I could.Blogger also has a labels feature, which allowed me to tag and categorise my work, making it more accessible to those viewing my blog. Lastly; it has an HTML editor, which allowed me to embed work from other websites, and also videos and pictures into my work.

YouTubeYouTube was probably the second most important technology throughout this process – it allowed me to access a massive amount of music videos, and find videos of similar style/genre through the ‘suggested videos’ sidebar. This therefore meant that I had a much wider scope of influences available to me, and the ability to screenshot other people’s music videos – therefore intertextual references were easy to highlight. It also increases a higher possibility of other people accessing my music video.Another feature is the ability to share the music video to other social media platforms, which again increases the likelihood of it being viewed, and means I can get feedback from the people on my social media.

Slide ShareThis was incredibly useful, as it allowed me to upload PowerPoint presentations online, and then embed them onto my blog. I therefore could create simple, informative presentations which offer a different way of completing work than just a word document. The presentations overall aren’t dull, and therefore are a more aesthetically pleasing way of presenting my work.

PreziPrezi effectively acts the same way as PowerPoint, except the presentations are more interactive – it is essentially a tool for designing an interactive mind map.The reason I used this is the same as why I used PowerPoint; it’s more aesthetically pleasing than a word document, and demonstrates a wider use of fluency within technology.
