Question 1

Results

Most of the random participants that we chose were male. This helped us identify which market we were making our music video for and if there were any different requests or expectations of different genders from our music video.

Question 2

Results

By having a different age range it also helped identify which age range liked indie pop. This will also help us identify who we need to target our star towards as a younger generation would have different expectations from an older generation. The females that liked indie pop ranged from 16-20 and one male was 18 and the other two males were 17. This helps narrow down the target audience to young females ranging from around 16-20+.

Question 3

Results

This question helped us understand what type of narrative we need to use in our video. Based on the results we will have both a story developing and the artist performing however it will be more performance based as it had the most votes.

Question 4

Results

The people that chose yes went on to answer question 5 which helped us understand what setting the people who liked indie pop expected. The people that answered no went on to answer question 6 and answered their favorite genre which helped us establish which age groups and genders liked which genre.

Results

Based on the results we found that most people that listened to indie pop expected a video that was outdoors and therefore our video will be based outdoors.

Question 6

Results

We found that only the males that took part in the survey didn’t listen to indie pop which helped eliminate them from our target audience.

Only one male said they didn’t find a link between a music video and the lyrics of the video which helped us decide that we should have a link between the music video and the lyrics of the song.

Question 8

Results

Everyone answered yes to this question so we decided it would be sensible to get inspiration from other videos from artists that also sing in the same genre. This can be seen in the similar artists research.

Question 9

Results

We asked this question to help create the stars image. Artists such as Lady GaGa are known fro their off screen antics however most participants said it doesn’t affect their opinion of the artist so we will not give them this persona. We have researched other similar artists star image and will research more for a better understanding.

Question 10

Results

Most participants answered yes to this question however it was very close so me and my partner are still wondering whether it would be suitable for us to have a free item in the digipak.

Overall Correlations

All males didn’t like indie pop and liked r’n’b and grime more.

Only males voted the option of watching the story develop, so perhaps we will not have this type of narrrative.
