Violence makes the story more interesting in my opinion.

Usually there are a few, three at the maximum.

I would prefer a horror which was set in a large area, perhaps the city. I find it works quite well for zombie films.

Scary moments, like jumps. Lots of make-up and costumes.

Sometime there are quite a few, ranging up to around 7 or 8, but sometimes the story focuses on one or a few characters.

Some place far from the majority of the population, like a forest.
