Completing the Square-in-a-Square Blocks1. Referring to Diagram 2, sew a fabric D triangle to each side of a fabric B square to complete one Square-in-a-Square block. Press seams toward the fabric D triangles. Repeat to make a total of four blocks. Note: Pay careful attention to the orientation of the stripes as you add the triangles to the square.

Completing the Quilt1. Referring to Diagram 3, mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of one end of (20) 32" x 62" fabric E rectangles. Repeat with the remaining rectangles to make 20 reverse pieces. Place one each rectangle and reverse rectangle right sides together on a fabric D rectangle and stitch on the marked line. Trim seam to 4" and press the fabric E rectangles to the right side to complete one sashing unit. Repeat with remaining rectangles to make a total of 20 sashing units.

Completing the Circle Blocks:1. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of each 32" fabric D square. Referring to Diagram 1, place a fabric D square right side together on each corner of a fabric C square and stitch on the marked line. Note: Fabric D is a stripe; be careful of placement if you want stripes to be identically oriented in the finished blocks. Trim seam allowances to 1/4" and press the fabric D pieces to the right side.

2. Center and appliqué an 8"-diameter fabric A circle to the fabric C square using your favorite appliqué method to complete one Circle block, again referring to Diagram 1.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to complete a total of five Circle blocks.
