  • With this embroidery file you can complete 4 crazy patchwork blocks. You can choose from 4 stippled designs to complete the blocks or just leave them blank.

Additionally you can make 5 completely quilted blocks which already have the batting and back fabric as well as the outline to cut the block out.

Included in the file are also 4 square and 3 triangular stippling designs to use for quilting of finished blankets, quilts or cushions.

The finished blocks can be used as they are for potholders, mug-rugs or mini quilts. If you sew the blocks together, you can make table runners, table cloths, cushion covers or even a whole quilt. A very easy way to assemble the single blocks is the quilt as you go method. If you search on you tube, you will find many videos about this method.

Here you can take a look at our video showing the steps on how to embroider these designs:

    Stickbr-Video Quilt Dreams

Materials needed: cotton fabrics volume batting 1 cm thick rotary cutter and quilting ruler

Cutting:In order to save fabric, cut your fabric beforehand.

Embroidery file 18x18 cm (sizes for the 13 x 13 are all in the parenthesis) inner square 11x11 (8,5 x 8,5) cm 1. set triangles: 2 squares 10x10 (8x8) cm cut in half on bias, together 4 triangles 2. set triangles: 2 square 14x14 (12x12 )cm cut in half on bias, together 4 triangles

  • Embroidering:

Hoop the back fabric and the batting together.

    Embroider the first color.

The machine sews the outline of the block.

Place the fabric for the inner square over the outline and make sure that about 1 cm of fabric is overlapping.

In the next step, the machine will fixate the square to the hooped materials and sew a line for the placement of the triangle.

  • Place the fabric for one of the smaller triangles over the line just sewn.

The next color will fixate this fabric.

Flip the triangle over and press with your fingers or iron.

The next color sews the next placement line.

Place the next triangle over the line, let the machine sew it, flip it over and press with fingers or iron.

  • Continue to complete all 4 triangles around the inner square.

Now we will make the outer triangles.

In the next step, the machine will sew a placement line for the first of the bigger triangles.

Now you can trim all overlapping fabrics.

Place the fabric for the first large triangle over the placement line and let the machine fixate it.

  • Flip the triangle over and press.

Continue to complete all 4 triangles.

Here you see the last triangle being done.

  • It should look like this.

If you want to quilt the block, remove the frame from the machine, but not the project from the frame.

Flip it over to the backside

With some temporary adhesive, place the back fabric face up onto the back of the frame and return the frame into the machine.

  • The machine sews the front and back fabrics together and at the end the stippling designs. If you do not want the stippling designs, stop now or use the blank embroidery file

Remove the project from the frame and trim the edges with exactly the same seam allowance on all sides.

Now you can make some more and build up your project block by block.

Wish you lots of fun sewing and embroidering.
