A Quincenera is the

changing of a girl

turning into a young

lady. During mass, the

quinceneara gives

thanks to god for giving

her that opportunity.

After mass, the

quinceneara and her

court of honor go

somewhere of her

choice in her limo or

her partybus to enjoy

herself with her

friends.

After mass, they arrive to the

hall and begin the

ceremonies. One ceremony

would be the shoe change.

The shoe change is the

change of the shoe into heels

which signifies her changing

into a woman.

Another significamt

cermemony is the

crown ceremony. The

padrinos de corona

would be the ones to

place the crown on the

quinceneara.

After the

ceremonies,

would continue

the father-

daughter dance. It

signifies the first

dance as a young

woman.

After the father-

daughter dance,

the quinceneara

dances a waltz

and a surprise

dance with her

court of honor.

This picture shows

the quinceneara

and the court of

honor making a

toast celebrating

she turned 15.

After, her

dances, the

quinceneara

goes to cut the

cake to begin

to open her

presents

After the cake,

she opens her

regalo de

sorpresa, then

the rest of her

gifts.

After she opens all

her gifts, everyone

heads to the dance

floor and they

enjoy the rest of

the night!
