Staff Secondment – Overview

Task 7.3 – Staff secondments (Months 19-33)

• Start Date: AUGUST 2006 (Month 19)

• Task End Date: OCTOBER 2007 (Month 33)

• Secondment Duration: Up to 5 working days

(Scope to extend Staff Secondment programme until Month 36)

Staff Secondment –Purpose & Objectives

• To allow members of RESISTVIR to gain hands on experience of the technologies and practices being discussed

• The EC have requested that younger researchers and female researchers are given priority when staff are being selected for secondment

• RESISTVIR events in Months 24 and 30 can be counted as secondments

• The allocation of funds for secondments will be decided by the Management Steering Board (MSB)

Staff Secondment -RULES

1. Any Personnel from the ResistVir Consortium can attend the premises of any other ResistVir Consortium Member based upon prior agreement between both organisations.

2. Each individual secondment should last up to 5 working days.

3. Secondment activities can include: technology practices, technology demonstrations, discussion forums, working groups etc.

4. Training at Consortium Members’ own facilities and at external events can be included as a staff secondment, but must be justifiably relevant to the Project.

5. Upon completion of a secondment each secondee is required to complete a one page summary report of their activities which should include; benefits obtained, total cost of secondment and recommendation for future improvements, plus any additional information you feel is relevant.

• Forms will be evaluated by Miguel Aranda, Juan-Jose Lopez-Moya, Mark Tepfer, Michael Wassenegger

• Applicants will receive a reply within 14 days

• Applications can be initiated by the secondee or by the host

• Applications must be jointly completed by the secondee and by the host

• Application forms must be sent in by the host organisation

• The evaluators will set a deadline for the completion of the secondment

• Initially, secondments will be limited to one per partner organisation
