R K CONSTRUCTION (LONDON) LTD Marketplace Our work is concentrated within a 50 mile radius of our offices. R K C has a wealth of experience in carrying out and completing projects based on the following type of contracts: -

o Design & Build R K C currently targets projects up to £1,500,000 in value, but remain willing to discuss opportunities outside of this parameter.

Examples from our Portfolio Refurbishment and Alterations London Nautical School, London, SE1, Value - £80,000-£110,000 We were awarded the Summer works 2005 and 2006 projects. The works were in the main to revamp several classrooms, ancillary areas and create new offices. Logistically the works were challenging because of the limited access and spread of the works in various locations on all floors.

Refurbishment and Alterations Providence House, Bethnal Green, E2, Value - £90,000 Internal and external refurbishment of occupied offices in a phased manner including minor structural alterations, incorporation of soundproof meeting rooms and new finishes throughout.

Alterations Blackheath SE13, Value - £150,000 Existing Victorian town house. Extension at 2nd floor level and addition of a roof level conservatory and external hardwood decking accessed from a new bespoke internal staircase incorporating a bespoke motorised roof light over the new staircase for heat retention.

Fit out

Fyfield, Essex, Value - £160,000 Fit out of a light industrial unit to create purpose built offices with meeting rooms, storage areas and packing and distribution areas, for a specialist writing instrument distributor. We were also responsible for the design and space planning to suit our client’s needs. Refurbishment Sittingbourne, Kent, Value - £200,000 An existing vacant warehouse located in the Eurolink Industrial Estate was vandalised. We were employed by Chubb Properties UK to refurbish the warehouse including forming new offices, ancillary areas, external repairs and new security perimeter fencing, so that the property was fit for an incoming tenant.

New Build Stoke Newington N16, Value - £240,000 North London Mosque. Demolition in part and extension to an existing prayer hall including retaining existing external walls, new steel frame, underpinning, piling and ground beams, internal cladding, Kingspan roofing system, motorised Velux rooflights with bespoke upstands, featuring internal inverted dome within ceiling.

Alteration

Ealing, London, W5, Value - £400,000 Existing 1920’s 5-bedroom house. Extension and complete refurbishment to create 8 bedroom, 5-bathroom luxury residence with under floor heating to entire ground floor, marble flooring, bespoke cornices and feature plasterwork, custom made kitchen, complete redecoration.

Alterations Croydon, Surrey, Value - £400,000

Alterations and extension to a community centre adding an additional floor within a tall, single storey, flat roofed building, involving a new steel frame, new slate tiled pitched roof, underpinning, new structural floor at 1st floor level, traditional tiled pitched roof with motorised Velux windows, extension to create a new kitchen facility and caretakers flat on 1st floor.

Kensington, London, SW7, Value £430,000 Complete strip out, refurbishment and extension to an existing property, including the addition of a new 2nd floor to create an elegant, updated, 3 storey London home for a senior manager of the Bank of Bangkok.

South Kensington, London, SW7, Value £500,000

Renovation and addition of a new top floor within a Regency townhouse to create a stunning duplex penthouse apartment, with its own private lift.

Renovation and extension

Hampstead, London, NW3, Value £500,000 Complete strip out, refurbishment and extension to an existing 3 storey Georgian style property, including the addition of a new curved oak staircase, bespoke kitchen, underfloor heating creating a modern home with many traditional features. Refurbishment and Alterations Benfleet, Essex, Value – £520,000 Alterations, refurbishment and fit-out of offices and warehouse areas. The contract was phased and occupied by a distinguished army uniform manufacturer. The project involved two large floors split between management and production areas. The building received new management offices on 1st floor, including air-conditioning, suspended ceilings, new floor coverings, newly designed production areas, involving re-wiring, new lighting, new floor finishes, all to create a more efficient use of space between departments.

New Build Hackney, London, E8, Value £600,000 A design and build project, comprising the demolition of 18 disused garages to build six new residential units for a local housing association. The project consisted of a house for a disabled person which has an integral lift, a three storey town house, and four one bedroom flats.

Alteration and Extension Chingford, London, E4, Value £650,000 Extension and complete refurbishment of an existing Church and church halls. The project involved the demolition and of existing buildings and structural changes to make room for a new link building between both halls and the main church, all served by a new Part M compliant entrance. New purpose made joinery throughout and replication of exiting joinery panelling and mouldings to the Sanctuary and ancillary buildings.

Fit-out Highbury, London, N4, Value £715,000 Full strip out, structural alterations and fit-out of an existing 3 storey office building to create new headquarter premises for a housing association. Offices provided with full height glass partitions and glass doors, air conditioning, curved glass block wall to a meeting room, new reception area with bespoke made hardwood reception desk and screen with integral security shutter, new external windows, new toilet areas and kitchenettes on each floor, new floor coverings throughout.

New Build

Stanmore, Middlesex, Value £750,000 Demolition of an existing house and construction of a new Georgian style 7-bedroom, 6-bathroom, luxury residence including stone floors, hardwood doors, refurbished swimming pool and irrigation system for the gardens.

Management team R K C core management team has over ninety years of cumulative experience in the construction industry. Mr Ranjit Singh OBE Founder of the group. Started his career as an electrical engineer in the 1960s and then decided to have a stint at carpentry & joinery subcontracting forming a company in 1974.…and the rest is history! Mr Inderpal S Matharu BSc (Hons) MRICS Previously worked as a PQS in the City for 6 years. This was followed by a career path working for a national contractor and then a major house builder. He decided to join the family business in 2002. Mr Davinder S Matharu BA(Hons), MSc Comes with a business management background and joined the business in 1995. Was thrown into the deep-end by working as site manager on a few refurbishment projects! In tandem he is involved on the development side and is working to develop sites. Mr Steve J Smith MRICS FCIOB Is a non-executive Director for RKC and has 40 years experience in the industry. He has been central to identifying the Company’s key strengths and creating a corporate identity. He is also involved in visiting the sites and advising on quality and health & safety issues that are integral to how we manage. Mr Robert Frankham C&G HND Has been with us since 1981 and has over 50 years experience in the industry. He is our senior estimator and is assists in resolving design issues with a particular interest in joinery. Mr Kirn Bhogal CEng Has been with us since 1978. He is now the Senior Contracts Manager who overseas the running of all the sites. He is the key person in ensuring that all Foreman adhere to the standards that are consistent with our Vision Statement and is apt in confronting any issues on sites raised by Foreman. Miss Sandra Tyler Our full-time Executive Assistant taking care of payroll, accounts and administrative cover. Mrs Carol Hogan Our full-time PA. Excellent administrative skills, she is a key anchor within the office, and though friendly and courteous, takes no prisoners!
