HOD’s Message At the outset, I congratulate the editorial board for
their solidarity in bringing out the fifth newsletter,
Volume 3 issue 1 of the “R R MECH CHRONICLE” with
flying colors for the academic year 2018-19. I feel
very glad to have the most hardworking result orient-
ed, highly motivated dynamic faculty & staff in the
department. I hope this issue of the newsletter comes with more
features, brings out the achievements of students & staff and will be
the foundation for the upcoming semester for achieving new heights.
I wish the editorial board all the success. I congratulate all the fac-
ulties of the department for their hard work in achieving NAAC ac-

The mechanical departmental association ―ARME‖ was started in the year 2016. The association effectively brings the stu-dents of the department together and bridges them to the outside world.
VISION
To develop & contribute highly motivated enthusiastic innovative young mechanical engineers to the nation.
MISSION
To provide a platform for the budding mechanical engineers to showcase their multi skillsets & encourage to acquire multifold talent through participatory learning.
Students of the department visited CIM Tools Pvt Ltd., 469, Site No. 467 12th cross road Peenya Industrial area Phase IV Bangalore 560058, to get exposure on sophisti-cated instruments of metrology & CNC machines used for manufacturing the vari-ous parts of an aircraft on 30-10-2018.
Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme — 01-10-2018
Resource person : Dr. Shridhar Hegde, Co-founder and Executive director, Sunfan Energy Pvt. Ltd.
Significance of the SDP was to develop knowledge, skills and understanding of how an innovative and creative idea, product and process can be used to form a new and suc-cessful business or to help an existing firm to grow and expand. An entrepreneurship course helped in developing the analytical abilities and strategic competencies necessary for students. Students of the department were benefitted by the program.

―M S Office word and excel‖ — 30-07-2018
Resource person : Prof. Selvakumar, Dept of Mechanical Engg., B M S college of Engineering Bengaluru.
Department of Mechanical Engineering had organized one day FDP on M S office word and excel on 30th July 2018. This FDP forum was intended to provide a platform for teaching faculty and non-teaching faculty members to update the latest development in M S office word and excel software. 60 participants including teaching and nonteaching staff of R R Institutions were benefitted by the program.
―Introduction to Latex Software‖ — 31-07-2018
Resource Person : Prof. Devaraj K , Dept of Mechanical Engg., B M S college of engineering Bengaluru .
Department of mechanical engineering had organized one day FDP on ―Introduction to Latex software‖ on 31th July 2018. This FDP was intended to provide a platform for teaching faculty members to utilize Latex software. The participants benefitted with hands on practice along with theoretical class. Phd. Students were benefitted with the knowledge of the software for their thesis work. 38 Faculties were benefitted by the FDP.
―Professional Ethics and Human values‖— 14-08-2018
Resource Person : Prof. V B Nanda Gopal, Chief Executive, Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP), Bengaluru. Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in association with Mechanical Engineering organized one day faculty development program on Professional Ethics and Human Values on 14th August 2018. The objective of the program was to create awareness among the teachers about their main responsibilities to their students, to understand social responsibilities of a teacher, to appreciate ethical dilemma while discharging their duties and defining their role in students’ lives. 57 internal participants and 27 external participants from various engineering colleges got benefited from the program
