My main aims My main aims
On the Region level
building friendly atmosphere within the Region increasing the number of young engineers from the industry encouraging Chapters and Student Branches to enhance their activity intensification of technical activities by the Region (over 40% of members do not belong to any Society) continuation of all our best practices
On the IEEE Board level
intensify the process of transnationalizing, enhacing IEEE globalization increase the number of Region 8 representatives in the compositions of various Committees

General Assumptions for Financial Policy General Assumptions for Financial Policy
due to global economic crisis and decrease in IEEE financial reserves, introduction of new strategy of economizing is required
stronger financial support on concrete projects rather than meetings for meetings sake
introducing guidelines to optimize travel expenditures
face-to-face SubCommittee meetings to be held max. twice/year, joint with R8 Commmittee meeting regular teleconferences are strongly recommended

Regions 8 and 10 are the largest in the IEEE with about 38% of the total membership; they share many similar problems, activities and initiatives. Some common problems and future plans were discussed
