Yarn: Cascade Rabat- 50% Wool / 30% Acrylic / 20% Silk,

100 g (3.5 oz) - 109 yds (100 m), one skein of color 15

-Dreamscape

Needles: US 9 circular with 12-16” cord .

US 11 with 12-16” inch cord.

A set of US 11 dpns for the crown decreases.

Alternatively, for the crown decreases you can use a

long cord for the “magic loop” method or two US 11

circular needles for the two circular needle method

of knitting in the round.

Other supplies: Tapestry needle and 11” diameter dinner plate

Gauge: 3 sts per 1” in sts, on larger needles, blocked

Brim

Using US 9 needles, cast on 56 stitches using method of your choice. I used the long tail cast on. Join in the

round and work k2p2 ribbing for 1.5”.

Switch to larger needles. Knit one round.

Increase section

Rnd 1: (k7, M1), repeat to end of round. 64 sts

Rnd 2-4: k all sts

Rnd 5: (k8, M1), repeat to end of round. 72 sts

Rnd 6-7: k all sts

Rnd 8: (k9, M1), repeat to end of round. 80 sts

Rnd 9-10: k all sts.

Decrease for the crown. Switch to dpns when necessary.

Rnd 1: (k8, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 72 sts

Rnd 2: k all sts

Rnd 3: (k7, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 64 sts

Rnd 4: k all sts

Rnd 5: (k6, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 56 sts

Rnd 6: k all sts

Rnd 7: (k5, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 48 sts

Rnd 8: k all sts

Rnd 9: (k4, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 40 sts

Rnd 10: k all sts

Rnd 11: (k3, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 32 sts

Rnd 12: k all sts

Rnd 13: (k2, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 24 sts

Rnd 14: k all sts

Rnd 15: (k1, k2tog), repeat to end of round. 16 sts

Rnd 16: k all sts

Rnd 17: (k2tog), repeat to end of round. 8 sts

Finishing

Break yarn leaving an 8 inch tail. Pass the yarn through the remaining sts, pull closed. Put hat over dinner

plate and wet block. Using the tapestry needle, weave in the ends.
