In recognition of RAC DTEC’s continuously high standard

of training delivery and compliance, Australia’s national

regulator for vocational education and training has

appointed RAC DTEC as an approved delegate of the

Australian Skills Quality Authority, less than 10% of

RTO’s nationwide.

RAC DTEC can now respond immediately to changes in

market demand and broaden our range of course offerings

to meet your entire scope of training requirements.

Our certified training includes:

and heavy vehicles

• Four Wheel Drive (4WD) and

All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) training

• Off-road recovery of 4WDs and heavy vehicles

• Remote Area Operation and vehicle management

• Motorcycle training

• High risk training

In addition, The Department of Transport have selected RAC

DTEC as a preferred applicant to provide Practical Driver

Assessment services for Heavy Rigid, Heavy Combination and

Unrivalled training areas The value to our clients is our location which reduces

travel times and increases practical learning afforded by

our purpose built facility.

The facility boasts seven individual and contained vehicle

manoeuvring areas, each offering a wide open and

unobstructed area, which provide the flexibility to create

a range of scenarios in wet and dry weather conditions.

Surrounded by substantial grassed run off areas, they

allow dynamic driver training to be conducted within a

safe environment.

To support driver training, our road circuit allows

inexperienced drivers to understand vehicle dynamics

and operations in a real life environment. This is

particularly important for heavy, high powered and

unfamiliar vehicles. For advanced driver training and

vehicle testing, the design of the circuit allows for safe,

but challenging training.

Having a specifically designed 4WD area on site,

containing a variety of hazards, ensures all participants are

exposed to a range of conditions and terrain experienced

in the field: steep approach, departure and ramp over

angles; sharp turns; undulating ground; bog areas, water

traps and soft sand. Areas are set aside for light and heavy

vehicle recovery training ranging from self-recovery

techniques for vehicles travelling alone to tow, snatch

and winching techniques in more advanced training. The

consistency of the course, and our ability to modify it

to suit specific training objectives, ensures participants

are trained and assessed consistently against national

standards of competency with specific focus on behaviour,

decision-making and competence in equipment operation.

Enhanced FacilitiesOur multi-functional indoor areas provide the most

effective learning environments with the flexibility to

offer modern seminar and conference facilities. For the

convenience and wellbeing of participants and spectators

we provide multiple common areas and hospitality

facilities including a large sheltered patio area, shaded

areas overlooking the training grounds, seating, vending

machines and café services.

Access and parkingConveniently located at Perth International Airport, just 20

minutes from the Perth CBD, we offer parking for customer

vehicles plus overflow as required. Traffic management

ensures safe movement of pedestrians around vehicles

entering and exiting the venue.

Broad reach In addition to our primary premises, we have extended our

reach across the South West by establishing driver training

facilities at Bunbury and Albany. RAC DTEC is licenced to

use land belonging to, or in the care of, government bodies

and has relationships with private enterprise with wide acre

areas. And through the DTEC Alliance we have access to 43

alternate locations with identified on and off road training.

areas allowing us to deliver courses from the Great Southern

through to far north WA, across Australia and internationally.

In order to meet unique organisational needs RAC DTEC has the flexibility to reduce the operational disruption of training by delivering courses at a location that suits you.

Modern fleetRelationships with vehicle manufacturers ensure a diverse

and modern fleet reflects industry trends. Passenger,

AWD and 4WD cars and utility vehicles rotate regularly,

showcasing and giving an appreciation for the latest

vehicle technology.

Our fleet of forklifts and heavy vehicles allow for licence training and assessment.

Operator training for Quad Bikes and Side-by-Side utility

vehicles to the resource, telecommunications, government

and defence sectors allow us to apply our knowledge

of vehicle dynamics, operator environments and driver

behaviour outside of the typical driver training environment.

Additionally, advanced driving techniques developed

through our performance vehicle fleet cascade into

defensive driving courses in the form of vehicle handling and

risk avoidance measures putting our courses at the forefront

of the driver training industry.

Unique and innovative hazard control vehiclesA vehicle never loses control; it simply responds to the

input of the driver. RAC DTEC utilises unique, custom built

hazard control equipment on dedicated training vehicles

to simulate treacherous conditions and unfamiliar road

surfaces such as rain, gravel or mud; environments in which

drivers may have had no prior experience or training. These

vehicles demonstrate to participants the inputs that create

understeer and oversteer. The purpose of these exercises is

to modify driver attitudes and implement driving behaviour

that reduces the risk of becoming involved in an understeer,

oversteer or skid situation.

Our ultimate goal is to keep people safer and help them work smarter Emily Noteboom Sales Manager

Cutting edge technologyOur unique Training Management Portal is a secure, online

system providing a dedicated communication link to RAC

DTEC. This tool enables organisations to manage the

competencies of their employees and contractors ensuring the

entire workforce is trained to the requirements of each job role.

The Portal is customisable to your business, with the capability

to manage all training undertaken through RAC DTEC and any

internal training provided by your organisation.

Through secure, self-service access and automated reporting,

managers receive live information via dashboards and push

reports, giving access to a vast range of training and financial

information from one centralised source. The outcome is

reduced duplication of work and precise management of

training costs.

By consolidating training through RAC DTEC, organisations

realise efficiencies in training management and gain absolute

transparency of training and competency status. The Portal

is available on all web-enabled devices, providing mobility

and immediate visibility across the entire training scope. Your

managers will have the power to confirm training status and

allocate resources more effectively, even in the field.

Our dedicated Account Managers ensure your requests are

actioned immediately avoiding disruption from unexpected

situations. Furthermore, they regularly review agreements to

ensure that RAC DTEC continues to deliver on our promises.

The RAC DTEC Training Management portal allows for

proactive management of training activities maximising

workforce value and allowing clients to achieve a sustainable
