King Ledley has gone right under the radar here. Third in the Goffs Million Sprint, beating Grade 1 Beethoven, Juvenile, in the process. He additionally beat Beethoven in one other race, the Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh. All in all, King Ledley has beaten Beethover in two of three matches. He is tough and tries. His second place finish in Rochestown to Love Lockdown was

excellent and Lockdown was hot having just beaten Beethover in the Naas's Irish Stalion Farms. Love Lockdown is a grade 3 winner at this time, having won the Totepool Stakes at Kempton.

Race 4 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree:  Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Sprint

1 - Zensational *flat out the best horse*

5 - Gayego *World record holder on this track at 6 and 1/2*

3 - Fatal Bullet *trainer says he is going to take back?*

8 - Capt. Candyman Can

Race 5 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree: Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile

13 - Lookin At Lucky *Baffert is going to have a very nice hour here!**

10 - Aspire *reminds me a lot of Midshipman last year*

6 - Pulsion *will pick up the pieces*

Race 6 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree: TVG Breeders' Cup Mile

11 - Goldikova *got a prep in Prix Del a Foret at Longchamp*

4 - Delegator *is outstanding~Great Form versus legendary types*

3 - Cowboy Cal *as game as they come*

9 - Gladiatorus*Italian connections think he is back to Dubai form*

10 horse field. They load from the outside in and he won't have the easy lead he looks to

have. He will have to work the first 1/8 of a mile  to just get in contention from that hole,

and it's near impossible to sprint to get the lead and then slow down. Not here, and he got

goofy the other morning and ran off. Mentally where is he? Desert Code looks and acts

better, the trainer told you, we told you, and he is going to run a big one. He is fit and

loves this course. Diamondrella will run on late and if it plays out the way we expect it to

go and 'Flag works too hard and creates a tough pace up front, she will run on. Gotta Have

Her will bounce coming back three weeks. Sahadi has had her in bubble wrap since.

Analysis & Wagering Strategies

WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, DD, Pick 3, Pick 6

Zensational doesn't get the respect due. He is flat the best horse around one corner in the

country. He has multiple gears and he is not the run-of-the-mill speed horse. He is special.

Rail or no rail, Baffert is very confident, and when he is like this, watch out! He is at his

best like this. If Fatal Bullet takes back, game over! Somebody check Reade Baker's

temperature. Gayego, and I should know about Gayego, is a tough s.o.b. He beat me when

my horse at the time was at his peak, and he set a world record doing it. Gayego is the

real deal! He is the second best horse around one turn in the country.

Analysis & Wagering Strategies WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, DD, Pick 3

Lookin At Lucky is the Juvenile in the country. Every year, especially when the Breeders

Cup comes out west, the New York horse come out here and get their a$$ handed to

them. D'Funnybone will be just like the rest. He has no two turn experience, no synthetic

experience, and when Dutrow brought out Jung Man Scott, he left with a horse with three

legs. You can really say here 'he beat nobody' also. The Euros are also overhyped. Alfred

Nobel is a juvenile that got hot in June and July. He is winless since at 7f. His form

doesn't say I need more ground. He has a win on yielding turf, which may transfer to the

pro-ride, so he has that going for him. Beethovern has proved to be a listed horse

disguised as a Grade 1 winner. Aspire will surprise some and Pulsion, who didn't have a

bad work, see my report for details, will be rolling late to pick up the pieces. "Lucky is

man here!

Race 7 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree: Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile

8 - Mr. Sydney *longshot here in dirt mile*

1 - Mastercraftsman *Euro superstar is 6/5?*

5 - Neko Bay*loves the track*

Race 8 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree: Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf

5 - Dar Re Mi *Gosden is confident to try the boys*

7 - Spanish Moon*bad boy at gate is a serious marathon type*

6 - Presious Passion *been galloping great all week*

2 - Conduit *beat one of the worse fields in Turf last year*

Race 9 @ Breeders Cup at Oak Tree: Breeders' Cup Classic

4 - Zenyatta *pace will be there for her*

8 - Einstein **couldn't look any better*

6 - Richard's Kid *really handles this track well*

10 - Rip Van Winkle*foot issues may make him somber*

Analysis & Wagering Strategies WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, DD, Pick 3, Pick 4

Goldikova is a monster. She had a break this year and a prep at Longchamp. She is ready.

The potential upsetter is Delegator. His past performances are like the who's who ~ Sea

The Stars (Arc De Triomphe), Mastercraftsman (Dirt Mile), Zacinto (Turf Mile), and Rip Van

Winkle (Classic). Wow! Tremendous horse. $1 pick 4: 4-11 with 1-5-8 with 5-6-7 with 4-6-8 = $54.00

Analysis & Wagering Strategies WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, DD, Pick 3, Pick 4

The toughest race on the card. Mr. Sydney hints he may like this surface. His 3 wins on a

yielding turf course suggests he can handle this loose main track in the heat.

Mastercraftsman is another than has the who's who  past performances, Sea the Stars,

twice, and Delegator. He was a runaway winner in the Diamond Stakes where he

quickened and pulled away in Grade 3 winner on the poly. He beat Man of Iron, Marathon,

and if that one runs big, you know this guy is the real deal. Also, not sure he will be 6/5

here. Public will bet Bullsbay (don't think he handles the poly well), Midshipman, and Pyro,

who are fan favorites. $1 pick 4: 1-5-8 with 5-6-7 with 4-8 with 1-3-9 = $54.00

Analysis & Wagering Strategies WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, DD, Pick 3

Conduit beat one of the worse fields in the history of the Breeders Cup Turf last year. He

is at best third or fourth best horse in here. Da Re Mi was disqualified for a mystery foul in

the Prix Vermeille. Nice horse.

Analysis  & Wagering Strategies WPS, EX, TRI, SUPER, SUPER HI 5, DD

Rip Van Winkle has foot problems and this track is not a surface you want to have

foot problems on. He also faces a tougher field that Raven's Pass faced last year.

Zenyatta is the amazon that will be to conquer her 14th straight win. She is amazing and

loves this track. She will be rolling. She is the top selection. Einstein is a hard knocking

horse that has looked impeccable in the mornings. He is also ready. Richard's Kid trains

great and quickens on a firmer surface in the morning. He finished well last out in the

Goodwood Handicap. I don't like the 'Birds. Mine that Bird is just inferior. Summer Bird

has not trained well, I don't care what the trainer says. He doesn't handle this track well.

Quality Road, now in Pletcher barn, also has had chronic foot problems. He is more of a

horse that has really been built up by creative figure making.

 Race 1: Damascus Stakes. 1 Coronet of a Baron 11/02/09 OSA 103.2

On the inside of a another barn's horse and finished head and head up. Looked OK.

1 Major Rock Star 10/31/09 HOL 113h looked good in this ¾ drill for Mitchell. Went from the 5/8 pole with stable mate Kays and Jays and went in 24.2, 49.2, and finished through the lane in 113 flat.

had to be urged a little late but responded very well. ***

1 Major Rock Star 10/24/09 HOL 110.4h may be one of this one's best drills. Worked in company with Carrie Rose and looked good throughout the work. Went the 5/8 in 57.4 and finished out to the

mile pole strong in 110.4. Was much the best here. ***

1 Smart Bid 11/02/09 OSA 101.6 Was very good inside of Bullsbay and finished easily down the lane. Went in 37.3 and 101.3 while visibly outworking Dirt Mile second choice Bullsbay. Has run here

and done well. Looks like a good horse. ***

1 Supreme Summit 10/31/09 OSA 101.2 solo work with David Meah on board. Finished well and in hand here. Galloped out

well.

1 Viscount 11/01/09 OSA 112 Worked with Spaniard and went well through the lane to look like the good horse he is becoming. Baffert called it during the summer before his debut

that he would be good with a distance of ground. He sure is.

1 Viscount 10/25/09 OSA 100.6 Worked from the pole here with Spurrier and was inside of grey router and both

finished well in 100.3 breezing.

Race 2: Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (Grade II). $1,000,000. Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings

1 Mile (Turf) 2 Becky's Kitten 10/25/09 SA 58.2h(d)

Blasted off and showed good speed from the pole on the turf and around the dogs. Went fast but seemed to be doing it easy late. My question was how much was left.

Can't do this on BC Day. **1/2

2 Becky's Kitten 10/07/09 SA 101.2h(d) Last half was good finishing on own late. Nice and easy move. Relaxed here.

2 Becky's Kitten 09/30/09 SA 48.4H(d) Was breezing here in hand in first work over this grass course.

5 Bridgetown 10/31/09 SA 102.4h Worked with morning outside of House of Grace, a stablemate, in the Juve Fillies turf and you could tell who was going to run on this surface in the afternoon and

who was going to the turf. She breezed on this surface, and looked more comfortable. Finished head and head. She handled this track well, and better than

workmate. ***

2 Summer Movie 10/21/09 HOL 46.3h was impressive here working fast and doing it fairly easy. Was urged a little late but

for the most part looked to be striding out very well covering a lot of ground. ***

2 Zip Quick 10/26/09 SA 127h(d) In the company of older allowance type Rose Diamond. Rose also was the

workmate for Allicansayiswow this summer. Zippy began three lengths back. Relaxed nicely and finished in a good rally to finish on even terms. Made the ground

up in 50.2, 102.2 and 127 flat. Final ¼ in 23.3. **1/2

Race 3: Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint. $1,000,000. Three-Year-Olds and Up.

 About 6 1/2 Furlongs (Turf)

3 California Flag 11/04/09 SA Looked good when he came out for his morning exercise, but something happened on the clubhouse turn. Dropped the rider and just went nuts sprinting down the lane,

the wrong way, along the outside fence. He simply lost his mind this morning.

3 California Flag 11/01/09 SA 48h(d) Looks good and with plenty of flesh. He looks good and trained easily here. Not

asked at all. Very easy. ***

3 California Flag 10/25/09 SA 102.4h(d) In hand and very easy here. Koriner is training this one like he thinks he is set. He is

carrying great weight and flesh.

3 Canadian Ballet 10/29/09 SA 57b(HC) Worked down the hillside turf course this morning with Solis on board. Officially

given 57 flat, but, and there is a big but..... There is no pole for five furlongs to the wire on the hillside. The half mile pole is at 4 and and about 75 yards from the wire.

Clockers upstairs got this one in 22.2 and 44.4 and then tacked on, guessing he may have gone 57 flat. This is an estimated time. We had more like 58 since he went in 51 and change for 4 and ½, give or take a few yards. Confusing, for time clockers, yes! The horse looked good, and finished well. He seemed well within

himself. That's the important thing. As far as the fast time, also remember that the first three furlongs were downhill. So, don't get stuck on the time here.

3 Cannonball 11/01/09 SA 59.2h Got his serious drill here after galloping on the hillside turf course. Went in 59.2 and

galloped out in 112.3. Went OK here. **1/2

3 Cannonball 10/29/09 SA ???(HC) Was on the hillside course along with Canadian Ballet. Was just galloping on the

course and never worked according to Blake Heap, who trains Ward's horses here in California. Heap had a big smile on his face, so, take it for what it is.

3 Cannonball 10/25/09 SA 100.3h(d) We had this as one of the first few horses on the turf course. Went in a good 101.2

on our watch. Not asked. On own.

3 Cannonball 10/11/09 SA 50.1b(d) Breezing here in hand for Ward. Looks good and did it easily.

3 Delta Storm 10/24/09 HOL 35.4h strong looking horse here for Mitchell looked really good through the lane doing it all

himself in 35.4

3 Delta Storm 10/19/09 HOL 36.1h rider looked to be struggling to keep this one to go fast. Looked very strong through

the lane in 36.1 under a strong hold.

3 Desert Code 10/28/09 SA 115.1h(d) Team drill for Hofmans here with Desert Code and Tamborin, the same

situation as last week. Desert Code broke 2 back and caught work mate at ¼ pole. Final ¼ for team was 24.1. ***

3 Desert Code 10/21/09 SA 113.2h(d) We had Tamborin working on the turf for Hofmans. Code, the defending champ

broke about three behind, and finished strongly late. Final ¼ in 23.1. looks good and actually training better than he did going in last year.

3 Diamondrella 11/04/09

Made an appearance this morning and looks like a real useful sort. Went about her business professionally.

3 El Gato Malo 10/23/09 HOL 48.2h was going easy for Dollase. Went off in 24 flat. finished under a little pressure in the

later stages in 48.2.

3 Get Funky 10/31/09 SA 110.3h Another Sadler that really sharpened his speed and flew early, only to be weaken

some late and finished under mild pressure. Sadler loves to have his horses fit. This one is fit. **

3 Get Funky 10/24/09 HOL 58.4h Worked awesome here with Dana Barnes. Went in 23.3, 35.2 and finished

strongly in 58.4. Big out and finished awesome in 110.4 on the gallop out. This was the key drill here.

3 Lord Shanakill 10/31/09 SA 111.4h Did it in good manner, but didn't really wow us. Went in 36, 59.3 and 111.4. Finished

the last three furlongs in 35.4. Did best.**1/2

3 Noble Court 10/31/09 SA 100.1(d) We had this neat horse, who is all try. Went in 34.3 for the last three furlongs.

Went in 25 early, and then stormed home in his final prep. Good flesh and color. You know he tries hard. Went in 111.2 and out in 125.2. ***

3 Noble Court 10/25/09 SA 114.2h(d) Began a couple of lengths behind Cannonball and finished well enough to menace

unexpected workmate late. Finished in 101 flat.

3 Noble Court 10/11/09 SA 101.3h(d) In hand and very easy for Sadler. Did it nicely late.

3 Square Eddie 10/31/09 SA 113.4h Began three back of a lessor workmate and was really going well late. Finished in

100 breezing to the wire. Looks the best we have seen. ***

3 Square Eddie 10/24/09 SA 100.1h Bejarano was on board this guy this morning. He looks much more confident hitting

the ground and went in 24.1, 47.4 for the last half mile. Galloped out in 114.1. Finished really well and looked good.

3 Tenga Cat 10/25/09 SA 114.2h(d) Big, black horse for Ellis is as handsome as talented. Joined by Muny, and Polonius.

Muny was always three back, and Polonius jumped in at the half with speed. 'Cat was unaffected and went easily in 50.4 and

114.2 breezing. Nice work and not allowed to explode in the lane. Looks good. ***

3 Tenga Cat 10/17/09 HOL 102h always seems to do it easy for Ellis. Went off in 25.4 but finished well through the

lane in 102 flat. looked good on the gallop out going out strong.

Race 4: Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Sprint (Grade I). $2,000,000

Three-Year-Olds and Up. 6 Furlongs

4 Cost of Freedom 11/01/09 SA 111.3h Worked from the pole shortly after 7 am with Tyler Baze in the saddle Was quick into stride here and went in 23.4, 47.3 and finished in 111.3 and out in 124.4. Fit enough and ran hard all the way. Did it OK down the lane and seems to be very comfortable

over a surface he was undefeated over heading into Ancient Title Handicap. You know he likes this surface.**1/2

4 Crown Of Thorns 11/01/09 SA 59.4h Worked with fellow stakes performer Meteore. Mandella, who usually likes to give his charges a confidence builder, chose here to give Thorns a stern test. They both went

in 12, 24, 35.3 and finished in 59.3. Final ¼ in 24 flat. Both finished well.

4 Crown of Thorns 10/26/09 SA 113.2h Colt worked with Worth Repeating and went best here by a couple of lengths over turf type workmate. Went in 12.3, 24.4, 49 and 113.2. Final ¼ in 24.2. Looked OK.

**1/2

4 Fatal Bullet 10/31/09 SA 59.1h Last December Fatal Bullet jammed a knee here, and it led his trainer to tell a beat writer from the form: '"I had three horses out there, those two and a maiden," Baker

said Friday morning. "They didn't like that surface, that's for sure...' Last year we were adamant that he didn't handle the track well in his works, yet he ran well in

good second place finish after dominating the pace. He didn't work well here either, going fast, but trying to get out all the way. Now, we know he hurt himself here last year in December n this surface, so how much of it can he take? The question is

whether he holds up physically, and we have the history of him not handling it. **

4 Fatal Bullet 10/24/09 SA 58.4h Amir Cedeno was on board and actually worked very well here for Baker. Split of 24.3, 35.4 and finished in 59.3. Final ¼ in 23.4. This was his best drill over

the track. I know his next drill was so-so, but I loved this drill today and this is the key drill for the pattern.

4 Gayego 11/01/09 SA 100.4h Migliore on board and this great looking dark horse was just flicking his ears like he was out for a stroll. He is a super animal and sprinter and he owns the

world record, here at Santa Anita, of 113 flat for 6 and 1/2f. I know, he beat me in the San Pedro. He looks grand, and worked grand. Finished well and looks

sharp. Ears flopping all the way down the lane. ****

4 Join The Dance 11/01/09 SA 47h Big dark horse with a flashy blaze. Went well and finished tugging at the rider. Looks

good, can't knock. **1/2

4 Zensational 11/04/09 I don't understand the knocking of this horse. He is truly superb and he gets

no respect. He looks good and went back on his toes.

4 Zensational 11/02/09 SA 45.1h

To say he was awesome was an understatement. He started to roll right after the five furlong pole so we took him from the 4 ½. He went in 23.2, 45.4, 58.3 and out in 112.3 on our watch. From the ½ he went in 22.2 and 45.1. He was

simply breezing and looks like Midnight Lute last year.

4 Zensational 10/27/09 SA 46.2h Given 46.2 but could have been given 58.3 or even 111 flat. He is simply a

machine. Baffert has him at concert pitch. ****

4 Zensational 10/21/09 SA 57.4h Gotten a sense of what his norm is. He worked a few times at Del Mar and did the exact same thing. Easy early, in a good tempo down the lane in 23.2, 34.3,

46.2 and 58 flat. Gallops out in racehorse time in 111 flat. He is simply awesome. One of the fastest horses I have ever seen.

RACE 5: Grey Goose Breeders' Cup Juvenile (Grade I). $2,000,000

Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings. 1 1/16 Miles

5 Aspire 11/02/09 SA 46.4h Good-looking two-year-old looks like a well made, fast type. Worked strongly here for the firat ¼ in 11.4, and 23.1. Was slowing down some but still worked well here in 46.4. Final ¼ in 23.3. Looked good, but has never been two turns

and should be on the pace with this speed work. ***

5 Lookin At Lucky 10/27/09 SA 112.2h Worked with Irish Gypsy, a late running sprinting filly. Went very well in 36.3, 48.3

and finished in 112.2. Like a machine.***1/2

5 Lookin At Lucky 10/21/09 SA 111.4h

Began behind Always A Princess, as Baffert loves to give him a target, and he swallowed her up in the stretch and went in 111.4 with final 5f in 59.3. Good.

Sharp.

5 Lookin At Lucky 11/02/09 SA 46.4h Didn't get a generous clocking officially, but on our watch he started five lengths

behind El Martillo, an older winner, and blew by him in hand. Went in 46.4. Looked strong and went well. Looks excellent and his rider Joe Steiner was all thumbs up

after. Tremendous juvenile.

5 Pulsion 11/01/09 SA 102.3h Began two lengths in front of Sea Of Marmara, a poly sprinter for Biancone, with Daron Long. May not want to dismiss, but this guy has been a late running router

and he worked on the lead today. Was being just niggled at and mind that workmate got within a neck, but was also being niggled at by Pedroza and never got by.

Pulsion was decevingly better than what it looked like to the naked eye. We are not jumping on the bandwagon knocking this horse. The work wasn't that bad.

5 William's Kitten 11/02/09 SA 46.2h Two-year-old Kitten's Joy colt went OK in fast time going 46.4 with blinkers on.

Maiden winner looks like Mine That Bird's past performances last year in this race.

Race 6: TVG Breeders' Cup Mile (Grade I) $2,000,000. Three-Year-Olds and Up.  One  Mile (Turf)

6 Courageous Cat 11/02/09 SA 101(d) Dark bay colt had Gomez on board here and went OK in this drill. He is a pretty

good horse but not this caliber. Went in 101 flat.

6 Cowboy Cal 11/01/09 SA 48(d) Looking grand with great color and flesh for Pletcher. Finished work off in

strong manner. Looked great and finished final ¼ in 22.3. Sharp. He is a gamer and quite intense horse. ***

6 Cowboy Cal 10/25/09 SA 48.2h(d) He is the kind of horse that pulls hard and can be tough to handle. He wanted to do more here, but was throttled down here finishing in hand. Looks great body wise. Big weight and seems to have take step forward since Oak Tree

Mile.

6 Ferneley 10/30/09 SA 58.4(d) Bejarano came out to work the horse despite having been ill the day before. He still seemed a bit under the weather when we saw him in the parking lot. Wow! This guy looks fantastic. Great coat and flesh. He is very good form right now. Went in 12.2,

36, 58.4 and finished out in 110.3, and 123.1(The gallop out times on the turf are an about distance). Very good looking horse hitting on all cylinders right now. ***1/2

6 Ferneley 10/24/09 SA 113h(d) Worked in company here on the grass for Cecil. Looks excellent fleshwise and coat.

Began four back, and went easy in 50.1 to the top of the turn and then exploded finishing in 113.1 for final ¼ in 23 flat. Finished two in front. Very nice. ***

6 Ferneley 10/07/09 SA 100.1b(d) Went in 38 flat early here and then finished in 101 flat and final ¼ in 23 flat. Nice

rally!

6 Gladiatorus 11/04/09 We got a sneak peak at him and he looked very good. Good flesh and color. Nice gallop. Spoke to an Italian bloodstock agent, who was very high on this horse. He

told me that he is back in the form he was in Dubai.

6 Goldikova 11/04/09 Watched Goldikova gallop here on Wednesday morning with Only Green (Filly or Mare Sprint). She looked great just tracking mate nice and easy. She was so relaxed. She had a tough time in her trip here last year. She was a total mess

when she got here. This year she is very sharp and looks grand.

6 Whatsthescript 10/26/09 HOL 100.3h left the pole for Sadler and went in 23.4, 48, and finished up very well through the

lane in 100.3.

6 Whatsthescript 10/20/09 HOL 50.2h just a easy work here for Sadler. Was never asked to pick it up late just under a tight

hold through the lane.

Race 7: Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (Grade I). $1,000,000.  Three-Year-Olds and Up. One Mile  on main (Pro-Ride)

7 Chocolate Candy 10/24/09 SA 114.2h Expected more. He looked light and dull in the coat. Rosario on board. Never

seemed to get out of third gear. Went in 25 flat and finished in 101.1. **

7 Midshipman 11/01/09 SA 113h Was asked to do more than most Godolphin's here on the pro-ride. Got two slaps on

the shoulder in the stretch. Shifted around and may have flipped leads behind in deep stretch. He just looked average or mediocre. He did win here last year in the

Juvenile with a front end running style. Have some concerns. **1/2

7 Mr. Sydney 11/04/09 Made an excellent appearance here for Mott. Really liked the coat and weight.

7 Neko Bay 10/31/09 SA 59h Rolled here for John with Mike Smith in the saddle. Quickened noticeably in the

stretch and handled this early morning surface superbly, too bad it's not the same way midday. Went well. ***

7 Pyro 11/01/09 SA 103.2h In the pursuit of his triple crow at the age of 3 Pyro was known as a horse that did

not handle the synthetics. He showed he could not handle the synthetics. He is 0 for 2 and was a non-factor in the Dirt Mile here last year. He showed his lack of

confidence or ability to generate his turn of foot. Cordero on board. He snatched him soon after the start as the Pulpit colt may have started doing too much, but he

seemed to fight the going and ended up finishing with relatively little. **

Race 8: Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf (Grade I). $3,000,000

Three-Year-Olds and Up. 1 1/2 Miles (Turf)

8 Allegre 11/02/09 SA 101.1(d) Went out and did things on own down the lane for Koriner. Went in 25.2, and 37.1. Finished in 101.1. Galloped out in 113.3, 126.3 and 141.1(gallop out times on the

turf are at an about distance)

8 Conduit 11/04/09 On the turf here on the break and went easily here and also went five furlongs on

the turf, like Conduit. We had this one very relaxed and galloped in 119.2 for the five furlongs. Very easy.

8 Conduit 11/02/09 Sa Gallop Looked real good with plenty of flesh here in a light canter and gallop through the

lane. Europeans train differently and they don't breeze like we do. He finished fourth in the Arc and had been off for over a month, so he is fresh. He also likes hard, firm

turf.

8 Monzante 10/23/09 HOL 113h worked in company here with Uffizi. Looked best late here finishing strong through

the stretch. And galloping out well past his workmate.

8 Presious Passion 10/25/09 SA 139.4h Worked a mile here with all his equipment on, and a very big exercise rider. Went in steady 12's on this pro-ride. Splits of 12.3, 24.3, 36.2 and 48.2, and 100.3. Finished in 113 and 140 flat. The last ¼ was forgettable, but he went steady early, and he is not going to run on the pro-ride, so.....There will be knocks, but he loses this race,

not because of this work, but because he may not be good enough. Addendum: He has galloped superbly and seems to be getting stronger going into race. The mile

work got him going in the right direction. He does look great on the track. ***

8 Spanish Moon 11/04/09 You don't get much work from these Euros especially in the Turf. This one was

spirited today and was tough to handle in a strong gallop. Definitely wanted to do something. A bit hot and wet.

8 Zacinto 11/04/09 Was a bit of a handful in a leg stretcher here down the lane on the turf. Actually

clocked him on the turf five furlongs in 115.2. Very easy. That's right five furlongs in 115.2. A gallop.

Race 9: Breeders' Cup Classic (Grade I). $5,000,000. Three-Year-Olds and Up.

1 1/4 Miles on main track.

9 Awesome Gem 10/23/09 HOL 101.3h had this one from the pole in 25.1, 49.1, and finishing through the lane being ridden

in 101.3. Seemed a little lazy this work.

9 Bullsbay 11/02/09 SA 101.3h Made his much awaited appearance. He has plenty of cheerleaders here in

California and went from the pole with Smart Bid, who ran 6th her ein the Sham in February and the latest a second place finish in the Grade 3 Transylvania at

Keeneland. He was simply breezing under a hold in the lane with Bullsbay making hard work for it on the outside. He won the drill while never being asked and the

heralded horse being beaten. Bullsbay simply is not a synthetic type of horse. He is better on dirt. He is very good on dirt.

9 Colonel John 11/02/09 SA 59.4h Worked from the pole for Harty. He had his best foot forward as he does every

workday. Went in hand in 36.1 and 100.1 on our watch. Galloped out in hand. Made it look easy.

9 Colonel John 10/27/09 SA 102.2h Doesn't do much in the morning for Harty, but does everything effortlessly. Went in

hand in 25.2, 38 and 102.2. Galloped out in 115.2. Seen this quite a few times. **1/2

9 Colonel John 10/21/09 SA 47.3b Finished in 24.1 and in very easy manner here for Harty.

9 Einstein 11/04/09 Great appearance on this Wednesday. Great flesh and looking fantastic here.

Follow.

9 Einstein 11/01/09 SA 47.4h Looked great galloping this morning, carrying good flesh in morning gallops

leading up to this work. Did not disappoint. Good flesh and easy half mile under wraps. Didn't do much over the track and that could be positive. He is fit

and doesn't need much more. ***1/2

9 Girolamo 11/01/09 SA 59.1h Time didn't fit the drill. Compact colt seemed to be struggling down the lane and did best to the wire. He looks and acts like a one turn miler. Head up in the stretch. Fast

work, fast time, because that is what fast horses do, but not on this surface.**

9 Mine That Bird 11/02/09 SA 101.2h Worked with Talamo on board. Went off in 12.3, 36.4, 49.1 and 101.2. Loose rein late and just went in mediocre manner. To me he is a non-factor in the Classic.

9 Mine That Bird 10/26/09 SA 58.1h Happened to begin work six lengths behind Lethal Heat(1 1/5 seconds behind). He

ran hard the first three eights in 34.1. never stopped and actually never slowed down finishing in 58.2. Didn't lose any ground to the filly, and was being niggled at by Talamo. He looks light, that's for sure. Makes me wonder if he is a bleeder and

Woolley is keeping the weight off of him. **

Went easily with Talamo here and in 51 and out in 104 and change on the gallop. He is carrying little weight, but he seems to be OK and training with ears pricked.

9 Richard's Kid 11/02/09 SA 47.1b Worked from the pole with Limestone Edge and was much the best. Went right by

workmate and drew off. Went well. Looked good. Sharp move and this little guy can really quicken on this stuff. ***1/2

9 Richard's Kid 10/27/09 SA 112.4h Baffert has really made this one into a very nice horse. Worked with Toro Bonito. Began behind workmate and made short work of that filly and went in 35.2 for the

last three furlongs. Huge! ***1/2

9 Richard's Kid 10/21/09 SA 46h Worked with Irish Gypsy and jumped in on Unknown Heat from the Abrams barn.

Was awesome finishing in 22.2 through the lane. He quickened over this stuff, pro-ride, and finished the last half mile in 45.4.

9 Rip Van Winkle 11/04/09 Was in a large contingent of Euros who paraded this morning. He jogged all the way around on the outside fence. He was a bit hot and wet, but didn't really mind that. He

had a good look. He also was placed with a pony in front of the contingent as if he was the leader. He has some foot problems allegedly? Keep your eye and ears

open.

9 Summer Bird 11/04/09 Had a blowout down the lane and simply looked mediocre to be kind. Didn't like the way he galloped out. One more time, he doesn't handle this surface in the morning.

Maybe he will like it more in the afternoon, but we didn't like what we saw this morning.

9 Summer Bird 10/31/09 Sa 59.2h I am going to be adamant that he doesn't finish as well. Went well in 23.2, 34.4 and then finished in 24.3, 59.2, for the five furlongs. Not asked as much by Desormeaux last week, but just seems to not to be as smooth in the stretch. It was more evident

in his work between races last week.**

9 Summer Bird 10/25/09 SA 100.2h Worked between races and simply didn't impress. Desormeaux was having to shake this one up, not once but twice, and got little response. 'Bird was climbing. Note that

this horse was sent to the east coast because he didn't handle the synthetic. Time~wise he was OK, but visually it was mediocre.

9 Summer Bird 10/17/09 SA 102b Worked over the pro-ride and went easily here without being pressured to do

anything, but stay within himself.

9 Zenyatta 10/31/09 HOL 112.2b Was right behind Green Cat, who has to have nightmares about this mare, and

just seemed to be clocking the workmate. Pulled alongside workmate in the stretch with her ears just cocked. I think she played with the 'Cat, and then

went out well to the mile pole. Not asked and did it on her own. She is as tight as she can be for this.

9 Zenyatta 10/23/09 HOL 111.1h

worked in company with Green Cat and Sabina Fay tied in at the ½ mile pole. Was traveling easily the first 3/8 before being slightly ridden by Jockey Mike Smith the final part in 111.1. Finished very strong and responded very well

when asked

Race 10: Oak Tree Derby 10 Acclamation 11/01/09 OSA 131

Finished in 103 flat breezing down the lane. Looked good here in slow seven furlong work.

10 Acclamation 10/25/09 OSA 127.2 Looking on target for the Oak Tree Derby and finished in 23.3 here.

10 Battle of Hastings (GB) 11/01/09 OSA 59.8 Finished well in a good work for Mullins. Finished in 59.4 and looked very good.

Seems to be sharper than at Del Mar. Was on a horrible rail at Keeneland in last.

10 Gretsky 11/01/09 OSA 114 Worked with Red Alert Day and Obrigado. Was three lengths behind Obrigado and two in front of Red Alert Day. Went well and was fighting it out with Red Alert Day in

the lane. Finished in 101.3 for the last five furlongs.

10 Massone 11/04/09 OSA x on the turf this morning and looked good carrying good flesh and had very nice coat.

Went well and actually finished well. Looked good coming off the turn.

10 Meteore 11/01/09 OSA 59.8 Worked with good looking Dirt Mile Crown of Thorns here for Mandella. Went in 12, 24, 35.3 and finished in 59.3. Looked good inside with plenty left in the

lane. 10 Rendezvous 11/01/09 OSA 100.4

He is a funny horse because he needs a very patient ride. The longer you wait the better. Very much in hand here and finished well.

10 Rendezvous 10/25/09 OSA 100.2 Rosario on board here and finished in 23.2 for a 100.1 on our watch. Looked good

here.

She went faster than the 113 given. She broke behind the Green Cat inhaled him at the top of the lane worked strongly with that left ear cocked all the way down to the

mile pole in 112.1.

Zenyatta 09/26/09 HOL 113.2 worked with Green Cat and Tiago. She began three behind Green Cat and 9 in front of Tiago. She worked well and was not asked at all. She did everything asked of her while three to four wide throughout. She won the Lady's Secret easily off this work.

Zenyatta 08/02/09 DMR 100 Worked with Green Cat who really wasn't interested much in this work. Zenyatta hit

the front by the furlong pole and the pricked her ears and stopped running! Her exercise rider, as Smith was out of town, just screamed at her at the top of his lungs. She did very little here. She was being very picky and almost refusing to step out on the Polytrack here at Del Mar. She won the Clement L Hirsch with a furious late rally.

Zenyatta 06/19/09 HOL 112.6

Was three behind Alice and later joined by Puff Maddie. She ranged outside of Puff Maddie in the stretch and went in 36.4 59.4 and 112.1. Beautiful drill. Won the

Vanity Handicap thereafter.

Zenyatta 04/26/09 HOL 59 Looked good working with Green Cat. Broke 2 back and finished well through the lane with loose reins. Good work. Beat Life Is Sweet after these drills in her come

back race in the Milady.

Zenyatta 04/19/09 HOL 112 left 3 behind stable mate Green Cat went off in 25.1 and finished very well through

the lane just pulling her way up along side Green Cat. Looked really good.

Zenyatta 04/11/09 HOL 110.6 Zenyatta spotted good-looking Storm Cat four-year-old gelding The Green Cat.

Zenyatta 03/17/09 HOL 47.8 Left the pole for Shirreffs and went in 11.4 23.4

Zenyatta 10/17/08 HOL 111.8 Worked with Bronzino and started three behind fell back to five as Bronzino ran off early. Gobbled him up. Coming back well.

Zenyatta 10/09/08 HOL 111.2 Worked with Bronzino and she went very easy and finished with ears pricked in 59.4 and out in 111.2. Looked very good. She is on target. Went on to win Ladies Classic

off this drill.

Zenyatta 09/20/08 HOL 112.8 Looked grand galloping on the 19th here at Hollywood and then turned in a great work here for Shirreffs. Worked with Bronzino a very good workhorse. Won the

Lady's Secret after this work.

Zenyatta 07/26/08 DMR 101 worked with maiden Green Cat and went in 101 flat breezing officially and we had her in the last three furlongs in 35.2 and best by a good length over the Green Cat.

She finished well with ears pricked. Won the Clement L Hirsch 2008 off this work.

Zenyatta 06/28/08 HOL 114.8 Breezed here for Shirreffs and she looked good in the flesh and coat but wasn't as fluid as we have seen her in the past. It could be a handful of things. She gutted it

out and won the Vanity off a tough Tough Tiz's Sis.

Zenyatta 05/07/08 HOL 100.6 Been seeing her gallop and jogging late in the morning with regularity and she looks great. Went well here. Won the Milady off this work after a brief respite after Apple

Blossom win.

Zenyatta 02/12/08 HOL 100 Took almost a month to come back off great effort. That track was treacherous and she may have felt the effects. Very nice here and finished strongly late. Looks very

good in the flesh.

Zenyatta 01/04/08 HOL 114.2 Worked from the pole and went well in company. She began behind another horse and then easily moved past mate in 24.3 through the lane. Went well. Nice. Won

the el Encino Stakes off this drill on January 13, 2008.

Zensational as truly been Sensational and we have dug all our of

 Workout History on Zensational

Zensational 08/03/09 DMR 45.6 Big work here and went well with bursts of speed. He is a brilliant speed horse and

you just wonder if the only thing that can beat him is the track. One of the fastest horses I have seen!

Zensational 07/28/09 DMR 110.8 He worked 110.4 on the gallop out. Went awesome in 46 and 57.4. Big time

move. He was awesome again and won the Pat O'Brien Handicap. He beat elders in last three Grade 1's.

Zensational 07/22/09 DMR 45.6

Went in 45.2 and 57.1 on the gallop out. Was just picking up speed as he went along. He was just gliding here and won the Bing Crosby Handicap.

Zensational 06/30/09 SA 58.6 beat Off The Hook in last two drills. This one has really come to hand and looks

ready for a smasher. The Smasher was the Triple Bend Handicap beating elders.

Zensational 05/21/09 SA 58.4 Hasn't been seen since flopping at twenty cents on the dollar on March 27. Trained sharp here and was firing on all cylinders. Went well. Bob called an audible and ran

into an allowance race on the 29th of May. He was scintillating.

Zensational 04/25/09 SA 46.6 Charged the five while running off while appearing to want to depart the ╜. Posted

splits from the five of 12 4/5 24 1/5 35 3/5 47 2/5. Hit the wire in 59 2/5 but mile time

was recorded in official works. Excellent drill. He was starting to get cranked as Bob was thinking of the Met Mile.

Zensational 02/04/09 SA 59 Finished well in 59 flat with a final three furlongs in 35.3. Looked good and did it with

speed as most Baffert horses do. A little known grey for Baffert was still a maiden here. He won off in a great performance.
