Alpha Technologies together with RADA host another

great birthday party for the children of Thato KeMatla

Orphanage situated in Orange Farm. This year the team decided to

treat the forty two children and nine caregivers to a day out at Zenzeleni Resort and

Spa near Walkerville, just South of Johannesburg . It was a day filled with swimming,

music, jumping castles and slides. Alpha Technologies a long-standing supporter of

RADA sponsored the day and gave up their weekend time to join the party and make

this day possible. “We look forward to this party each year. The orphans from the

home enjoy the outing and we love to celebrate them”, says Disebo Manager and

‘Mom’ to the children aged between one month and eighteen years. Thank you

Joseph and your team for your ongoing support.

Food hampers for Orange Farm RADA in

collaboration with sponsor AGT Foods handed out 141

food hampers to the community living in Orange Farm

close to Vuyiswa, one of RADA’s adopted homes which

currently takes care of fifty two residents who are

mentally disabled. Orange Farm lies approximately

34km South of Johannesburg and is the largest

informal settlement in Gauteng with well over 21 500

households and 76 000 individuals who live in the area

(last count 2011) The majority of the residents being

unemployed and struggling to survive. RADA is

committed to continue supporting the community

through food aid and regular soup kitchens in the area.

RADA headed out to Andries Meyers Old Age Home

situated in the heart of Eldorado Park. The home houses

86 elderly and we teamed up with the staff of the home

and our sponsors to prepare and serve the families living

near the home.

This very close knit and proud community face serious

and daily struggles with issue around drug and alcohol

addiction, poverty and abuse. Both adults and children

lined up with containers to collect soup for themselves

and their families at home. We were able to provide

approximately 400 meals that morning and we intend to

make ‘Eldoes’ a regular stop for 2020.

With year end fastapproaching, the RADA teamis gearing up for the ninthinitiative in their highlysuccessful and ongoing RADAInspire campaign of 2019. For

the month of November, RADAfocuses on orphans, the elderly andthe homeless in our society.

While RADA aims to empowercitizens to lead better lives by makingwell informed and wise decisions, weunderstand that every now and then,people need a helping hand. DuringNovember RADA will be distributingfood parcels to the community ofOrange Farm, hosting soup kitchensin the Johannesburg CBD andcelebrating with the orphans of ThatoKeMatla. RADA, will also be workingwith the elderly in Johannesburg,Alexander and Eldorado Parkproviding food to the communitiesthat they are situated in.

“RADA believes in a direct exchangeof energy and we celebrate thosepeople making a difference in thecommunity,” says J-P Nobrega,Founder and CEO of RADA.“Those individuals who take care ofthe children in the orphanages, theelderly in homes, the sick, thehomeless, they are angels in thecommunity who act as role models,showing that we as people are able torise above our circumstances and

collectively make a difference. Theyare creators of opportunities.”

The RADA Inspire movementencourages the citizens of SouthAfrica to take a moment and dosomething meaningful for those inyour community. We recognise thata sense of togetherness and the loveand support of community vastlyadds to our quality of life.

Perform an act of kindness. Big orsmall any act of kindness not onlybrings hope to others but can helpyou feel more connected and have agreater sense of contribution. So, doacts of kindness daily.

Take notice of your judgmental,negative and hopeless thoughts andthen… let those thoughts go anddon’t let them control yourbehaviour. Stop judging yourself andothers, be kind to yourself, practicethinking of yourself and others withcompassion.

This world may feel broken, but thereis beauty in it. Find the hope andinspiration. Start where you are andtake one step at a time. Cultivatehope and inspiration in your life andthe lives of others. Get involved anddo the good that you can, in the placewhere they are, with the tools andthe people around you.

We all need to have a goal in our livesthat is larger than the day’s headlines,

or what is trending in social media.Creating inspiration, reignitingdreams and cultivating hope is ajourney for which we needcompanions, family, friends, co-workers, caregivers andcommunities.

RADA Inspire is about marryingaction with awareness, movingforward inch by inch, and making adifference in people’s lives one dayat a time. It is based on the premisethat one person can make adifference, and that when youchange yourself, you raise yourresonance, creating a ripple effectof positive change. You don’t haveto be exceptional. You don’t haveto exert yourself beyond yourmeans. In the end, all it takes is todo one small thing differently,empowering others with the beliefthat they may do the same.
