Applicant Request• Recycling of Construction and Demolition (C&D) and
Class III debris• C&D debris is classified as material considered not to be
water soluble and not hazardous in nature. This can include, but is not limited to: steel, glass, brick, concrete, asphalt, gypsum wall board and lumber.
• Class III waste is classified as yard trash, construction and demolition debris, processed tires, asbestos, carpet, cardboard, paper, glass, plastic or other materials that are not expected to produce leachate that poses a threat to public health or the environment.
Applicant Request
• Materials that are recyclable will be picked and removed from the waste stream and sorted by type into bins. These bins will be located on-site on a temporary basis until full, at which point they will be hauled off-site for reuse. All other materials will be removed from the site to an approved Class III/C&D disposal facility.
Staff Recommendation
• Staff finds the request consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and Code and specifically with the policies and portion of the Code noted in the staff report
• Staff recommends approval of the request with the conditions found in the staff report and the bases as noted therein.
