The main function of this department is to create customer interest in products or

services. Marketing is an integrated process through which companies build strong customer and

create value for their customers and for themselves.

FINANCE AND HR DEPARTMENT:

This department keeps in track about the money transaction done in the company based

on the sales and purchase done.HR maintains overview of all departments.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Software development (also known as application development, software design, designing

software, software application development, enterprise application development, or platform

development) is the development of a software product.

Software can be developed for a variety of purposes, the three most common being to meet

specific needs of a specific client/business (the case with custom software), to meet a perceived

need of some set of potential users (the case with commercial and open source software), or for

personal use (e.g. a scientist may write software to automate a mundane task). Embedded

software development, that is, the development of embedded software such as used for

controlling consumer products, requires the development process to be integrated with the

development of the controlled physical product.

PAYROLL PROCESS

In a company, payroll is the sum of all financial records of salaries for an employee, wages,

bonuses and deductions. In accounting, payroll refers to the amount paid to employees for

services they provided during a certain period of time. Payroll plays a major role in a company

for several reasons. From an accounting point of view, payroll is crucial because payroll and

payroll taxes considerably affect the net income of most companies and they are subject to laws

and regulations (e.g. in the US payroll is subject to federal and state regulations). From ethics in

business viewpoint payroll is a critical department as employees are responsive to payroll errors

and irregularities: good employee morale requires payroll to be paid timely and accurately. The

primary mission of the payroll department is to ensure that all employees are paid accurately and

timely with the correct withholdings and deductions, and to ensure the withholdings and

deductions are remitted in a timely manner. This includes salary payments, tax withholdings, and

deductions from a paycheck.

SOFTWARE TESTING

Software testing is an investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the

quality of the product or service under test . Software testing also provides an objective,

independent view of the software to allow the business to appreciate and understand the risks of

software implementation. Test techniques include, but are not

limited to, the process of executing a program or application with the intent of finding software

bugs (errors or other defects).

Software testing can also be stated as the process of validating and verifying that a software

program/application/product:

1. meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development;2. works as expected; and3. can be implemented with the same characteristics.

CLIENTS PROCESSING DEPARTMENT:

How all purchases orders take place and how the products are placed correctly to

customer. This is the back process of E-Business. Customer purchases a product through internet

and completing the process by placing the ordered product in right place is mainly seen in this

project.

The gist of this project is a detailed study of how purchases are maintained which take

place through the internet. How all purchases orders take place and how the products are placed

correctly to customer. This is the back process of E-Business. Customer purchases a product

ASP.NET:

Microsoft ASP.NET is a free technology that allows programmers to create dynamic web

applications. ASP.NET can be used to create anything from small, personal websites through to

large, enterprise-class web applications.

Carotechs development center in India has a dedicated team of ASP.NET developers and

are one of the foremost companies providing low cost, professional ASP.Net application

solutions for the customers.

ASP.NET is a web application framework developed and marketed by Microsoft to

allow programmers to build dynamic web sites, web applications and web services. It was first

released in January 2002 with version 1.0 of the .NET Framework, and is the successor to

Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. ASP.NET is built on the Common Language

Runtime (CLR), allowing programmers to write ASP.NET code using any supported .NET

language. The ASP.NET SOAP extension framework allows ASP.NET components to process

SOAP messages.

ASP.NET aims for performance benefits over other script-based technologies (including Classic

ASP) by compiling the server-side code to one or more DLL files on the web server. This

compilation happens automatically the first time a page is requested (which means the developer

need not perform a separate compilation step for pages). This feature provides the ease of

The ASPX and other resource files are placed in a virtual host on an Internet Information

Services server (or other compatible ASP.NET servers; see Other implementations, below). The

first time a client requests a page, the .NET Framework parses and compiles the file(s) into a

.NET assembly and sends the response; subsequent requests are served from the DLL files. By

default ASP.NET will compile the entire site in batches of 1000 files upon first request. If the

compilation delay is causing problems, the batch size or the compilation strategy may betweaked.

Developers can also choose to pre-compile their "code behind" files before deployment, using

MS Visual Studio, eliminating the need for just-in-time compilation in a production

environment. This also eliminates the need of having the source code on the web server.

DOTNET:

Microsoft .NET is a software component that runs on the Windows operating system.

.NET provides tools and libraries that enable developers to create Windows software much faster

and easier. .NET benefits end-users by providing applications of higher capability, quality and

security.

The .NET Framework (pronounced dot net) is a software framework that runs primarily on

Microsoft Windows. It includes a large library and supports several programming languages

which allows language interoperability (each language can use code written in other languages).

The .NET library is available to all the programming languages that .NET supports. Programs

written for the .NET Framework execute in a software environment (as contrasted to hardware

IT ACTIVITIES


STUDY ON THE E-MARKETING DEPARTMENT:

The system followed by the company is an online store, which sells photographicequipments worldwide.

The different domains in which the company sells the goods are US, UK, Australia andFrance.

The company has warehouses in all these countries, it is from there the goods aredelivered to their customers.

The web address for the UK domain is www.backdropsource.co.uk. The project detailsabout a customer placing an order in the website and how those purchases are

maintained

Customer selects the required product Customer adds the product to the cart Then if Customer continue to purchase further, he proceeds with continue purchasing or

with the option of check out.

Then login screen will be displayed after the check out is selected If the customer is existing customer he will proceed with returning customer login box or

he will register new customer login box .

This is the department where they will maintain the purchases done through e-business. This

department is to place the products to the ordered customers correctly at correct time. This

make verification on shipping details and product details .

After the confirmation we must create a new purchase order to place the order

And atlast we must select the products and select update status to complete the purchase order.

CONCLUSION

CONCLUSION:

The Back office system of the company is an effective tool to maintain the details of their

customers. The Database is very secure and well protected that the customer details are not

revealed to anyone. The warehouses are also connected with this system so that they ship the

exact goods to the customers. They ensure a safe delivery on time. This is a very good system

that can be used by the Indian markets as well. In country like India people are getting familiar to

Net banking, Phone and Mobile banking making life much simpler and easier. Even though most

of people are hesitant to buy goods over the internet, few come out making their purchases

online. The Indian companies, to match the mindset of our people have also made payments

simple through Cash on Delivery and VPP also. The system is user friendly rather than being

expert friendly. By developing this project, I have gained a lot of experience in Dot Net

programming and understanding the basis of an ERP system
