How can you help at home?Continue to encourage your child to read at home every day where possible. Please help your child to practise counting in 2, 5 and 10s to link to their 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Continue to play number bond games to 10 and 20. Please practise counting to and from 100.

We are devouring… “Handa’s Surprise” by Eileen Browne. We will be making predictions about the book and thinking about when we have had a surprise. We will be working on the correct use of full stops and capital letters. We will also be choosing a poem to learn and say aloud from the Puffin book of Fantastic First Poems.

During this term, we will be revisiting Phase 5 phonics and Starting Phase 6.

As mathematicians we will be…

Learning and practising- number facts, place value, sequences

alongside addition and subtraction. Following this, we will be looking at- multiplication and division, doubling and halving and leading up to our

forthcoming trip to Pizza Express we will be gathering and interpreting

Year 2 key Home Learning and spelling is sent home on Fridays and is due back the following Wednesday at the latest. Please keep up your home reading and enjoy our beautiful books. Children can change their reading books two times or more a week as necessary. They should place their book and reading record in the tray in the classroom when they arrive in the morning if they wish to change their book.Please ensure PE kits are in school and labelled. PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays for both classes.Pencil cases are not needed in Year 2.
