Renovation works on the Railway Bridge at
Hamburg Veddel
Railway employees led the replacement of 516
bridge girders. On a stretch of line 260 m
before and 30 m behind the bridge, two Hering
crews operated in parallel over three weekends
from the middle of November to the start of
December 2011. Rails, sleepers and gravel
were replaced with the aid of MFS hoppers,
road rail excavators and tamping machines.

Track renovation on the Neunkirchen-
Salchendorf line to a length of 553 m.
Replacement of old sleepers and rails with new
ones using excavators, wheel loaders, HGVs
and tamping machines. Within the scope of the
Health and Safety Management system, a site
audit was carried out on 21 July 2011. Auditors
from BG Bau checked the site and came to a
positive conclusion.
