Seller Insight Rainhill Mount is an imposing property that sits in an enviable location between Liverpool and Manchester. The house was built-in 1852, but in recent years it has been beautifully

renovated by the current owners and is now an extremely elegant home that is immaculately presented throughout.

“Before moving here in 1997 we were living in an apartment in the Albert Dock,” says Graham. “After many happy years there we decided that we wanted more space and somewhere with a lovely big garden, but we were finding it difficult to find our ideal property.” “It was actually my father who persuaded us to take a look at this house,” says Jane, “and although at the time it was in need of some TLC, the minute we saw it we both immediately fell in love with it.”

“The layout of the house is quite traditional,” continues Jane, “but all of the rooms are extremely spacious with high ceilings and lovely big windows.” “We enjoy fantastic views from the house,” says Graham. “Our location is elevated and so we have a magnificent open vista right the way across the Liverpool skyline. New Years Eve is always a fabulous evening because we can go up to the roof deck and watch the fireworks going off over the Mersey.”

“The garden is something that I’ll really miss when we leave, says Jane. “ We have a big, formal lawn, which is great for kids to run around on, an area for herbs and flowers, and a courtyard with a fountain, which is a really nice place to sit out on a warm evening. It’s a beautiful space that we have both really enjoyed.”

Favourite room: “We have a living room at the top of the house which we call the sky lounge,” says Graham. “It’s one of our favourite parts of the house as it’s a less formal space where we can put our feet up and relax at the end of the day, and it means that the living room downstairs can be kept immaculate for guests.”

Favourite aspect of the grounds or surrounding area: “The front of the house looks out over fields,” says Graham, “and yet we’re close to the motorway and train networks, and within twenty five minutes we can be in Liverpool city centre, Manchester is less than forty minutes away. It’s absolutely ideal.”

Memorable event (if not another favourite room or unique feature): “Because the house is so spacious we have done a lot of entertaining,” says Jane. “We had my 40th birthday celebration in the garden, which was a fabulous occasion. We had a jazz band playing and caterers to cook and serve the food, and the house provided the perfect backdrop.”
