2019 EVENT REVIEW

On April 23, the Rainier Scholars community came together to celebrate our largest-ever cohort of high school seniors – 51 scholars with 197 acceptances to 66 different colleges and universities around

the country. We also celebrated our newest cohort of college graduates, joining companies, schools and organizations near and far, in their first leaps into the post-college “adulting” phase of life.

A 12-YEAR JOURNEY TO COLLEGE GRADUATION

It’s fitting that this year’s luncheon theme was “Together,” because we rely on the power of partnerships to enable our scholars to access and make the most of opportunities.

• Together with parents, we raise the academic bar and the vision of what is possible for our scholars.

• Together with school partners, we create access to strong college prep school environments where scholars thrive.

• Together with colleges, we increase graduation rates among student groups who historically have graduated at a 7-11 percent rate, but now earn four-year degrees at a 90 percent+ clip.

• Together with employers, we illuminate career pathways and empower the next generation of leaders.

Finally, together with our sponsors and the generous Rainier Scholars community, we raised $1.67 million at our luncheon – representing nearly 40 percent of our annual budget. By standing beside us, you not only further our mission, you inspire others to join you.
