• attentiontotheuseofcompatiblematerialsfordrainagesystemcomponents,leaf-guardtypesystemcomponentsandcompatiblefasteners/sealantstoconnectandsealthecomponents.
• thepositionofthegutterinrelationtothefascia.
• installationofthespecifiedgutteranddownpipes,ensuringthatdownpipesareinstalledinthecorrectlocationsandnumbers.
• gutterfall,ensuringsufficientfallandthatitisinthedirectionofthedownpipes.
• overflowhasbeenconsideredandspecificdetailsareinstalledwhererequired(suchaswhenthegutterfrontishigherthanthetopofthefascia).
duringtheinstallationalldebrisandloosewastematerials(swarf,fasteners,etc)mustbecleanedoffattheendofeachdayandatthecompletionoftheinstallationtopreventblockagesofthedrainagesystemordeteriorationoftheindividualcomponents.anyprotectivefilmsshouldalsoberemovedaspartoftheinstallationprocess.

Roof drainage system design
roofdrainagesystemsshouldbedesignedanddetailedbyasuitablyqualifiedtradeorprofessionalinaccordancewiththebcaandtheaustralianstandards.Particularreferenceshouldbemadetothecorrectsizingofgutter;quantityandplacementofdownpipes;andtheprovisionofappropriateoverflowdevices.(Page2-3).

4) rinse the gutter with water to soften and break up the dirt.
5) use a soft bristle brush and sweep the dirt out. rinse again.
