TOWN OF CANOVA PROCEEDINGS
March 18, 2019
The Board of Trustees for the Town of Canova met on March 18, 2019 at 5:50 p.m. Present: Mayor: Todd Glanzer, Board Members: Sharon Elliott and Kari Gosmire, the Utilities Supervisor: Dave Esser, and the Finance Offi cer: Megan Gassman
The meeting was called to order.Minutes of the last meeting were
read and approved.
Old Business Water Bills were reviewed.
New BusinessThe 2018 Annual Report was
presented to the board. Motioned by Elliott second by Gosmire to approve the 2018 Annual Report.
The Drinking Water Report was received and reviewed. The drinking water report will be posted at the Canova Post Offi ce for townspeople to review. If requested, a copy will be provided or can be viewed at ht tp://den r.sd.gov/des/dw/PDF/DWQPDFs/0081ccr.pdf.
Spring Clean-Up tentatively set for May 4th, 2019. Any volunteers would be appreciated and can speak with any board member for information. The Finance Offi cer will reach out to county and Dawson’s Construction to confi rm date. Notice will be sent with monthly water billing.
Lawn Care will continue discussions at the April 15th, 2019 meeting.
The following bills were presented to the Board, motion by Elliot second by Gosmire carried to approve and pay:

CITY OF CANOVA TOWN BOARD EQUILIZATION
MEETING PROCEEDINGSMarch 19, 2018
The Board of Trustees for the Town of met on March 19, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Canova Community Center as the Board of Equalization. Present were Mayor: Todd Glanzer, Board Members: Kari Gosmire and Sharon Elliott, and Finance offi cer: Megan Gassman, Property Owner: Dee Zens.
Glanzer called meeting to order.An appeal was received from
Dee Zens to lower the valuation of property Lot 4 & S1/2 of Lot 5 Block 37 of the Canova Village – OP. Letter was postmarked March 15, 2019 and all appeals should have been delivered personally or postmarked by March 14, 2019.
The 2018 Assessment Book for Canova City Miner County, SD was reviewed and determined to be correct as equalized.
There being no appeals for further discussion, motion by Gosmire and second by Elliott to adjourn. Equalization board meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following described real property situated in the County of Lake, State of South Dakota, to-wit:
Lots Four (4) and Five (5) in Block One (1) of Polke’s Addition to Poelke, now Junius, according to the recorded plat thereof, and subject to restrictions and easements of record
was on the 21st day of December, 2015, purchased by the County Treasurer of Lake County, South Dakota, for said county at the regular tax sale held in said county on the 21st day of December, 2015, for the sum of $153.96, said sum being the amount of the taxes assessed against real property for the year 2014, plus penalty, interest and cost of sale. Certifi cate #2015-00076 was purchased for the said amount due by the County Treasurer for said Lake County, South Dakota; that in pursuance of said sale, certifi cate of tax sale dated the 21st day of December, 2015, was duly issued by said County Treasurer to said Lake County, South Dakota; and that said County is now the legal owner and holder of said certifi cate of tax sale.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the right of redeeming said real property from the tax sale will expire sixty days from the date of the completed service of this notice, and that unless redemption is made from said tax sale within said time, a tax deed will be made and issued by the County Treasurer of the County of Lake, South Dakota, of said County of Lake, State of South Dakota, covering the above described real property.
