Ramadan 21, 1431-Ramadan 2010- Episode 21
The Last 10 days days of Ramadan
• ‘Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said,• “When the last ten days (of Ramadhaan) would
begin, the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, would tie his lower garment (Izaar) tight, stay up at night, and wake his family (to offer acts of worship).” [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]
• The wording of this reported by Muslim is as follows, “The Messenger of Allaah, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, would strive hard in worship in the last ten nights (of Ramadhaan) in a way that he would not do at other times.”
Striving hard in these ten days should not be in a specific kind of worship, rather it should be in all different acts of worship such as praying, givingcharity, reciting the Quran, mentioning Allaah
The Almighty and the like.
• So to resume…• Exert your efforts during these
ten days by spending in charity, doing righteous deeds and
offering optional night prayer, submitting yourselves to Allah, hoping for His good reward and
seeking protection from His punishment
• The last ten days are the conclusion of this blessed month and what counts in deeds are
how they end: It was narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam,
said: “Indeed, what counts in deeds are their end.”
• Scholars have mentioned that the last ten days of Ramadhaan are better than the first ten days of Thu’l-Hijjah. They are the best days of the year as a whole and they include the Night of Al-Qadr, which Allaah The Almighty has made better than a thousand months
• Among the last ten days of Ramadan, there is the Night of Laylat Al Qadr
See you tomorrow, Inshallah
