We picked our lot, struggled through a multitude of house designs and then built our home. It was a labor of love but not without its trials and tribulations. It was all worth the effort and struggle to be able to provide a safe home in which to raise our family. Letter from the President By Kelly Wilde

As one of the new members of your Community Association Board of Directors, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kelly Wilde and I am your new HMRCA President. I am thrilled and honored at being elected into this position recently vacated by your tireless and dedicated past president, Dwight Arnold. Having been an alternate on the board for the last year has given me the opportunity to watch first hand the many duties the president faces. I hope I can measure up to the high standards set by Dwight and the other hardworking board members. I have been a resident here in HMR for 2 years now, and a property owner for 4 ½ years before that. I lived in the Houston area for 12 years before I ever made my way up to the Magnolia area. All it took was one drive through High Meadow Ranch and my husband and I knew this was where we wanted to live. It immediately ‘felt like home’ to us. We picked our lot, struggled through a multitude of house designs and then built our home. It was a labor of love but not without its trials and tribulations. It was all worth the effort and struggle to be able to provide a safe home in which to raise our family. I have tried to be an active neighbor to prepare for my role as president by serving on several neighborhood committees. I previously participated on the Architectural Control Committee, am currently on the Activities committee, the Master Planning committee, and will now also serve as the web-site administrator. It’s been extremely rewarding serving on these committees and I encourage all of you to sign up to be a volunteer of some sort. If you own a for-profit business and would like to advertise it here, we ask that you please pay a nominal fee per month to the community for this advertising. Board/Committee: If you are serving on a Board or Committee, please make sure your committee information is up to date. Also, remember to post those announcements.

You can go here anytime, however we would like to create set times for specific subjects (tennis, swim team, book club, etc.) so that people interested in that subject can expect to find others available. If you have a subject that might make for an interesting chat, please contact the administrator and we will post an announcement about the time and subjectMessage Board: This is like a “slow motion” chat room where conversations can play out over days or weeks. Post a comment, question or problem here and others can read it and reply to it whenever they want. RANCH ROUNDUPGolf Tip of the Month

How To Add Yards to Your Drives Adding yards to your drives comes from using different parts of your body to create speed in the club head:• The grip must be in your fingers, not the palm.• Your stance should be wide with your feet shoulder-width apart.• The plane of your swing must be around your body, with the club

coming from the inside for impact. An around-the-body swing is helped by a right-to-left (for right-handed players) weight shift, which in turn creates the release from the inside. And the club coming from the inside to impact creates maximum speed and distance.

Holiday Garbage Pick-Up Schedule Do you wonder if garbage will be picked up on a particular holiday? Here’s the latest information from McDaniel Garbage Service. If a holiday falls on your route day, your route will be ran the day after the holiday. The week of the holiday all routes will run a day later after the holiday. If you live in a contracted subdivision with twice a week pick-up (which applies to High Meadow Ranch) and a holiday falls on your day of pick-up, you will only receive one pick-up the week of the holiday on the next regular pick-up day. The following holidays will not have garbage pick-up: New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If you have any questions about the holiday schedule, you may call the McDaniel Garbage Service office at 936-894-3600. The latest holiday garbage pick-up schedule can also be found on the back of your bill.
