RapidResponse Foundation Courses

Introduction to RapidResponse

This video series introduces new users to the concepts and functions that they need to understand to work effectively in RapidResponse. The videos show how to sign in, navigate, find, and understand information in reports and print or export that information. Tools for communication, collaboration, and simulation are introduced. This course provides a foundation for all users to build on as they acquire whatever specialized RapidResponse skills they need, and it is a prerequisite for all other RapidResponse training.

Data Simulation

This course covers using scenarios in RapidResponse to perform what-if analyses. Participants learn how to edit different types of data, such as calculated and summarized values, and currency information. The course also covers evaluating the results of changes, tracking changes, and committing changes once a course of action has been selected.

This course covers how to view single level bills of material, understand how to use the BOM Analysis workbook and analyze changes such as an increase in a component's lead-time and modify option ratios. RapidResponse Basic Authoring Courses

RapidResponse Data Model

This course provides participants with an overview of the database design concepts used in the RapidResponse data model. Participants learn how data is organized, table and field types, and receive a hierarchical representation of the main tables in RapidResponse. In addition, users also learn about input, calculated, and control tables, along with their intended uses, and understand which tables and fields to use when designing workbooks. A brief introduction to key RapidResponse analytics and modifiers is also provided.

RapidResponse Authoring – Fundamentals

This course covers how to create filters, hierarchies, workbooks, and table-based worksheets. Users learn how to create crosstab worksheets which can drill to the details, how to insert images in worksheet columns, and how to apply formatting to worksheet columns or rows based on data conditions in the worksheet. The use of version control is also incorporated into this course. In addition, users learn to create multi-scenario columns in multi-scenario

worksheets. This course also teaches how to use the RapidResponse Query Language to leverage the power of RapidResponse to create simple, compound, and conditional expressions. After attending this course, participants will understand the RapidResponse workbook development process and leave with a worksheet design template and the required skills to be successful at authoring RapidResponse resources.

This video series for resource authors and administrators shows how to enable users to track

responsibility for data in RapidResponse. The first four videos are intended primarily for resource authors, and focus on responsibility definition and workbook authoring. The last video in the series shows two functions that only system administrators can perform: setting the responsibility scenario and configuring responsibility roles. However, this video might also be of interest to workbook authors who want to use responsibility role variables in column expressions.

define default values for missing fields. Users also learn about workbooks that define crosstab data to be imported directly into tables, and how to customize this data inserted using Microsoft Excel worksheets.

Data Administration – Transforming Data (SAP)

This course is targeted at RapidResponse administrators who are responsible for integrating raw data from an SAP data source into RapidResponse. Participants will learn about creating transformation resources that transform raw data to RapidResponse data, configuring mappings to control how transformation workbooks are automatically generated, modifying workbooks that are manually created, and automating sequences of transformations.
