This attractive red-brick Georgian building has been at the heart of Burnham Village life for over two centuries. The main part of Burnham House is thought to date back to at least 1773 and was home to a succession of village doctors.

Dr Maxwell Summer bought the house and practice in 1927 and continued to look after the people of Burnham until his retirement in the early 1970’s, at which time the building was converted for office use. Burnham’s older residents have fond memories of visiting Dr Summer in his consulting rooms in the linked former stable building, now known as Burnham House Lodge.
