INTRODUCTION

• The Raspberry pi is a credit card sized

computer that plugs into your TV and

keyboard.It’s a capable little pc which

can be used for many of the things that

your desktop pc does,like spreadsheets,

word-processing,plays high-definition

videos and games.It is mainly aimed at

kids to help them learn programming.

FEATURES

• The Raspberry Pi has a Broadcom BCM2835 system on a

chip (SoC), which includes an ARM1176JZF-S 700 MHz

processor.

It uses an SD card for booting and long.-term storage.• It weighs about 45gms.

• Size:85.60 mm × 53.98 mm (3.370 in × 2.125 in).

• Power source : 5 volt via MicroUSB or GPIO header

• Available in two models.

LIMITATIONS OF PI

• For something that costs so little, the Raspberry Pi is

amazingly powerful, but it does have some limitations.

Although you probably use it as a desktop computer, its power

is closer to a mobile device (like a tablet) than a modern

desktop PC.

• It is comparable to intel pentium 2 processor.

• The memory of the Raspberry Pi is more limited than you’re

probably used to, with just 512MB or 256MB available. You

can’t expand that with extra memory in the way you can adesktop PC.

• The graphics capabilities lag behind today’s market somewhat

too.



CONCLUSION

• Raspberry pi is not a fix to all of the world’s computing issues

but it will be a catalyst.

• It can work as a personal computer, but cannot replace it.

•

As it is cheap, accessible, programmable computers areaffordable.
