Kenton Ridge Leo Club, a student service organization sponsored by the Northridge Lions Club, strives to serve the community in any way needed. The Leo club currently has over 200 student members. This is one of the largest organizations at KR. The Leo club members have already been very active in the community this year. They have volunteered their time at the Northridge Lionesses spaghetti dinner and the Rolling Hills Fall Festival. They have also supplied babysitting services at Rolling Hills and Northridge for parents so that they could meet with their child’s teacher without interruption. While others were trick or treating, many Leo club members participated in the Lions Club Eye Glass drive, collecting over 150 pairs of glasses. These glasses will be refurbished for needy families in community. Leo club members provided tremendous support to the Kenton Ridge Boosters at the Touch of Gold event. They helped on their day off of school with set-up and assistance to the Boosters. They also helped with

Golf Team cont. from page 1For the third year in a row, Schlicher and Portz were selected to first team CBC and first team All-State. Clark, for his second straight year, was selected to the first team CBC. A fun fact for these golfers is that the three seniors Clark, Portz, and Schlicher did not lose a conference regular season match in their four years at Kenton Ridge.

This 2011 State Golf Championship is only the third State Championship won in Kenton Ridge's history. Coach Chris White did an excellent job of mentoring and coaching these young men to victory.

Congratulations, team!

Leo Club Helps Outdisplaying auction items, babysitting young children while their parents attended the event and serving the meals. Without their help, the event would be difficult to complete. The holiday season is always busy for the Leo club. They are currently and will continue to collect gently used and new coats for children and adults. The coats collected will be given to Jackson Lytle Lewis Funeral Home for local distribution. Any community members who would like to participate in this coat drive may bring the coats to Kenton Ridge High School or may contact Mrs. Bennett to schedule a pick up.  In addition, the Leo Club is once again participating in Adopt-A-Family through the Salvation Army. This program provides impoverished families with tangible needs during the holiday season. Without the Leo Clubs participation, this family would be looking forward to a very grim holiday. The Leo club will also be caroling at local nursing homes during the week of December 12th. Their vocal talent will entertain residents at various nursing homes in the community.
