Front PageOn the front page my model will be located in the centre thirds, overlapping the masthead

so that he is the main focus and shows the artists are what is most important about my magazine . His eye line will be in the top third to create a direct mode of address. My sub-images will be composed on the sides of the page to show they are less important and will

frame the dominant image. The mast head will be in the top thirds running from left to right. My main headline will be in the centre third overlapping the dominant image. It will

include and advert for a poster special along with sub-headlines.

Contents PageIt will have a masthead across the top thirds introducing the page, a dominant image with

sub dominant images, categorised articles with page numbers and a subscription box. Everything on the page will frame the dominant image.

Double Page SpreadThe right hand side of the page will be filled with a dominant image and a pull

quote. The left hand page will be text led. I will have no sub-images as I think it is the information in the article that is most important. The text will overlap the

background of the dominant image.

Composition, Layout and Framing

Fonts, Colours and Mise-en-sceneThe final colours I have decided to use are black white, red and blue. I think these colours represent the rock genre very well as they are grunge and dark. I will make sure the shades I use are dark shades to emphasise the dark genre of rock. I decided to use blue instead of yellow because I think it fits more with indie and alternative rock which is more relaxed whereas yellow is more of a heavy rock colour as it connotes danger and warning.I will use the same font for my masthead, contents title and double page spread mast head. The colour font will range from white and black depending on what colour background it is put against.Mise-en-scene will include a graffiti wall background that emphasises the rebellious attitude of rock and dark rock clothes such as black skinny jeans, converse and leather jackets. I am going to Photoshop tattoos onto my model so he looks more rough and edgy. My sub-images will be of concerts and bands I have attended which will support my articles about live reviews.

Language and Register

My target audience is 16-25 year olds. As this audience is quite mature I will add mature language into my magazine. I want my magazine to be informal and colloquial so that the reader feels more involved in the stories and to

make it more universal. I will use humour and puns within my article to create a lively atmosphere to show that rock can also be fun and innovative. I will

use taboo language because the audience is mature enough and it will emphasise the attitude of rock stars. I have chosen to use direct mode of

address and use words such as you alongside rhetorical questions to get the reader involved with the story even further.
