Yale Diving completed a successful 2014 season both individually and as a team. Freshman Lilybet

MacRae was undefeated in 1 meter competitions for the entire dual meet schedule and Ivy League

Championship. She earned second on the 3 meter at the Ivy Championships and won the coveted Rick

Gilbert high point diver award, which is given out to the competitor who scores the most points in

diving. MacRae is only the second diver in Yale history to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Senior Tyler Pramer was a finalist at the Ivy Championships in the one and three meter events all four years,

earning him the "Ron Keenehold" Award for the senior diver who scored the most career points among

their graduating class. He is the first Yale diver to ever receive this honor.

For an impressive fifth straight semester, Yale Men’s Swimming and Diving earned the top spot among the

CSCAA NCAA Division I Scholar All-America Teams. Yale’s collective GPA of 3.62 gave them a significant

lead over runner-up Harvard whose collective GPA was 3.41. The Women’s Swimming & Diving team also

received Scholar All-America recognition for their collective GPA of 3.48 which ranked them 16th in Division

I and top among the Ivy League.

Women’s Post-Season

Yale Women’s Ice Hockey had a strong season finishing 9-16-7 in

ECAC Hockey play and earned the program’s first ECAC playoff

birth since 2008.

The Bulldogs fought hard in the ECAC tournament, making it to the

third game of the semifinal round against No. 5 Harvard. Yale

fought hard throughout the entire series — playing two double

overtime games totaling nearly 180 minutes of hockey prior to the

season ending loss.

Yale will graduate four seniors, captain Tara Tomimoto, Patricia

McGauley, Paige Decker and Ashley Dunbar.

Phoebe Staenz Rookie of the Year and Olympian

Freshman standout Phoebe Staenz, a native of Zurich, Switzerland,

represented her country at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. She

earned a bronze medal at the Olympics with Team Switzerland

and scored the game-tying goal in Switzerland's come-from-

behind 4-3 win over Sweden for the bronze medal on Feb. 20.

Staenz made an immediate impact on the Bulldog squad,

leading the team in scoring and earning three ECAC Hockey

Honors: Hockey Rookie of the Year, third-team All– ECAC Hockey,

and conference All-Rookie Team selection. All while missing 12

games for the Elis due to her national team commitments.

Agostino and Root: From Yale to Professional Hockey

Senior standout Ken Agostino signed a two-year deal with the

Calgary Flames. On March 21, Agostino made his NHL debut for

the Flames in their match against the Nashville Predators.

Senior captain Jesse Root signed an amateur contract with the

Bridgeport Sound Tigers. On March 19, Root made his debut

against the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Following the 2014 season, Agostino and Root lead Eli scorers with

14 goals a piece. Root was named Best Defensive Forward in

ECAC Hockey, the first Yale player to earn the honor, while also

being named second-team All ECAC and first-team All-Ivy.

Agostino was named third-team All-ECAC.
