• 130 KWth peak parabolic trough solar matrix Plus 70 kWth Linear Fresnel Collector
• Thermal oil is used as HTF and generates superheated steam at 200 psi and 210 C is through a non-firing oil boiler
• A 20HP steam engine is powered by the steam generating 15 KWe
• 150 liters/Hour of distilled water is generated• 20 KW adsorption chiller is powered by rejected heat
from the water distillation unit• In winter the rejected heat is used for space heating
with 80 KWth

The Tri-Generation System is Flexible
• The system can generate Steam only for industrial process
• The system can produce only one stage of the four outputs. It can only produce electricity, or water distillation, or cooling or heating alone.
• The system can by-pass any stage to produce a combination of two or more of each stage (e.g. electricity +steam or cooling +steam …etc)

Financial feasibility of co-generation
• The best feasible system is combining steam and Power by producing higher pressure steam to generate electricity and use the exhaust steam for the industrial application.
• The other combination of the poly generation depends on the specific need.
• For the full system in Mu’tah the pay back is around 5 years if it was fully operated continuously. R&D cost were not considered.

In Conclusion
• Poly-Generation is feasible both technically and financially and can expand the scope of CSH in MENA region.
• Steam Generation via CSH is feasible for indusrial applications.
• Linear concentrators both Fresnel and Parabolic Trough are suitable for moderate temperatures of CSH.
• To spread CSH systems project financing is needed
