APRIL 21,2015 THE RAYGUN COWBOYS “Heads Are Gonna Roll” Perhaps the harden roughneck oil town of Edmonton Cana- da has influenced more than just bar brawls and Rodeo’s, after all we are talking about “The Raygun Cowboys” who since 2000 have come out of the gate like a wild ride so strap in and hold on because their latest “Heads are Gonna Roll” is going to give you a good ride. The Raygun Cowboys have most recently released this album on “Stomp Records” with a full 11 track L.P. This Quintet has deep roots in Rockabilly country fuse with Brass overtones. The tracks are guaranteed to be reminiscent of a fifties swing groove with a overtone of classic title tracks that remind you what if the “King” Elvis was actually in a Pyscobilly band? Songs like “In these walls” have an intro of homage to the plains natives and reminiscent of an upbeat “Johnny Cash” meets rockabilly style and then a corresponding duet song titled “Twin Falls”. The album has its Brass moments in songs like “On the Shine” which is a faster more upbeat track and “You were the one” has that classic rockabilly swing that will get you groov- in. The Track “Bitter Shame” has the slap bass shining through as a rough vocal lyrical content head track that people can relate to. The Raygun Cowboys are no stranger on the road and make the suds flow the dresses shake and the roughest stranger sing with a smile. “Grab Hold of Er! The Suds flow way too fast grooving- to this one !”
