Job Description - Resource DevelopmentIntern About United Way:United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties fights for the health, education and financial stability ofevery person in Kankakee & Iroquois Counties. We mobilize resources and foster connections tostrengthen lives and build a caring community. United Way partners with local service agencies, corporatebusiness partners, committees, and individuals to live out our mission statement.
Description: The RD Intern will primarily focus on supporting the Development Manager in developingmarketing materials to raise awareness of United Way in Kankakee and Iroquois Counties. Additionally, the RDIntern will help to develop and bolster fundraising efforts through researching prospective partners andstrategically plan for United Way’s annual workplace campaign.
Responsibilities:Assist with the promotion, preparation, and execution of fundraising effortsAssist with solicitation mailings, updating spreadsheets, researching new contacts, preparing mailers, etc.·Assist with the promotion of United Way’s efforts through drafting United Way’s monthly newsletter Breakfast with United Way·Provide creative assistance with marketing and social media (must learn adhere to brand compliance) Attend United Way committee and board meetings as schedule allows

Student Requirements:• Strong communication skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets/Docs• Must be comfortable making professional phone calls• Keen attention to detail• Flexibility with project management• Strong writing skills• Minimum of 15 hours per week; work from home (WFH) available
