Educational Programme.

The school follows CBSE syllabus and gives importance to both scholastic and co-scholastic activites. Emphasis is laid on team work, co-operation healthy competition in all spheres of school life.

Pre-Primary Level (Kindergarten) Our Kindergarten is a unique place where attention is paid to make sure that the children enjoy every aspect of schooling in their formative years/ Special attention and care is taken to ensure the emotional safety of the tiny tots. There is absolutely no punishment or any other repressive measures. There are no formal test and examinations in the Kindergarten. The periodical assessment of the various faculties of the children is made in informal way and special efforts are made to remediate the areas where improvement is

required.

Computer lab, Science Laboratories and Library The school has a well equipped computer lab and science laboratories for science subjects and Mathematics. The computer lab

provides comprehensive exposure to the IT world to the students. The practical and project works as recommended by the CBSE for the various subjects is compulsory for all the students. Handsome investments are made to make them modern and up to date. Students are expected to use them with great diligence and care for their mental and intellectual nourishment.

Co-curricular activities

There are several co-curricular activities in the school, which enable the children to acquire mastery over their inherent potentials and equip them to face life with too ease and confidence. Scouting and guiding is compulsory for all the students of the school. Students participate in KSS activities.

We have organized our students into four Houses named after flowers known for their beauty, fragrance and serenity. These houses function under the guidance of House Masters/Mistresses, Captains and Vice-Captains. Competitions in sports, games and co-curricular activities are held house wise. The Champion House of the year bags the PRINCIPAL'S TROPHY.

The school provides coaching for various sports events like Cricket, Volleyball, Throw ball, handball, Hockey and Basketball.The school will also help students to get specialized coaching in Cricket, Swimming and Gymnastics through the Dept. of Physical Education, Mysuru University, after paying the prescribed fees.

Working Days and Attendance

The school follows a six-day (Monday to Saturday) week schedule. There will be no regular classes on Sundays and Second Saturdays. On Saturday students wil have various activities and programmes, (Kinderegartenwill have only five-day week schedule)

Regular attendance is a condition for promotion to the higher class, absence from school for reasons than illness or serious unforeseen circumstances will not be excused, A minimum of 90% attendance is compulsory for promotion. Condonation will be exercised only in exceptionally valid case and that too only to the extent of 15% shortage. Students with shortage of attendance will

not be allowed to appear for the final examinations and will not be considered eligible for promotion.

Tests, Examinations and Promotion The school will be conducting both summative and formative assessment and evaluation on a regular basis, Performance in

tests/term exams/final exam will be indicated in grades. The attendance for the periodic Tests and Examinations, the schedule for which is given in the handbook, is compulsory. Promotion to the higher class will be based on the over all performance in these Tests

and Examinations.

No retest will be arranged nor will any testexam be rescheduled for any student on account of his/her absence from a test or exam. Attendance for all the tests and exams is mandatory. Leave is not granted ordinarily, except on medical grounds. However granting this will be the sole discretion of the Principal. student will not be granted promotion if he/she is absent in the Final

Examination.

School Uniform Students have to wear the prescribed school uniform on all working days. The parents have the freedom to get the uniform

stitched from any were in the prescribed pattern and colors.

Wednesdays: White Uniform Saturdays: Scout/Guides Uniform/House Dress. All other days Regular School Uniform Neck tie, ID

cards and School belts and uniform socks supplied by the school are to be worn by all the students.

Parent's Visit to School Periodic Parent-Teahcer Meetings are a unique feature of the school. We invite experts in the field to address the Parents on

various issues and provide a platform for healthy interaction among Parents and the Teacher on those parents who wish to meet their

child/children's teachers can do so on any working Saturday without seeking prior permission, Parents are encouraged to meet the

teachers of their child/children as often as possible and keep abreast of their conduct and progress. It is not advisable to meet the teachers on week days as they will be busy with their academic responsibilities. Parents can meet the Principal on any working day

preferably with a prior appointment.

Fee Structure and Payment

The fee structure is expected to meet the developmental and recurring expenditure, the major one being salaries of the Staff. Salaries, developmental activities and the mounting maintenance costs require substantial amount of money. Obviously fee raise on a yearly basis to match the current salaries and other costs is inevitable. Parents are requested to meet the School Office for furtherdetails about the fee structure and payment.

Admission Admission is open to all children irrespective of caste, creed, religion or region subject to the admission rules. Admission

procedure usually starts in the first week of January. Those who wish to admit their ward/s should collect the Prospectus and application form from the School Office after paying the prescribed fees.

Achild Seeking Admission to Playschool should have completed Two and a Halfyear of age on 30the April of the year of admission. Achild seeking admission of LKG should have completed 3 years as on 30th April of the year of ad mission. Achild Seeking admission to Class 1 should have completed 5 (five) years on or before 31st May of the year of admission. Admission to various classes will be held on the basis of the performanceof the Child in the Entrance Examinationconducted by

the school. The date of Entrance Examination will be made known to the parents at the time of the collection of applicationforms. The

entrance test will consist of questions from English, Mathematics and General Science of a general nature, appropriate to the class for

which admission is sought. There will be no written test for admission to Kindergarten and Class 1.

The Student and both the parents should be present at the time of admission. The following certificates should be submitted at the time of admission. If photo copies of the certificates are submitted, it should

be supported by the original for verification.

Date of Birth Certificate (LKG, UKG and Class 1) UKG Study Certificate (Class 1) Assessment Records/Mark Reports of the previous year (class 2 and above) CBSE Registration Card (Class 10)

Two copies of recent passport size photo Transfer Certificate (original) in the case of those seeking transfer.

Please Note:

1. application without the enclosures mentioned above will be rejected. 2. No change will be permitted in the name of the student and date of birth once the admission is made. Parents are expected to make

exact entries while filling the application forms. 3. The Management reserves the right to deny admission to anyone without giving and reason or explanation.

Withdrawal: If the Parent wishes to discontinue the Child/Children's studies in SPA they must apply in writing for the Transfer Certificate, which

will be issued on payment of the required fee. The Transfer Certificate will be issued only after clearance of all dues to the School.

However, No fee paid will be refunded under any circumstances.

Conclusion: SPA is interested in giving the best learning environment to our learners. This is possible only with the support and whole hearted

co-operation of the Parents. Parents are expected to respond to the various circulars and information sent to them from the School positively and meet the Principal/teachers whenever asked to. It is also important that the Parents attend the periodical Parent-Teachermeetings and keep themselves abreast of the School's philosophy and various policy decisions. Home is the first school for children and school is their second home. Parents are the first teachers and teachers are the second Parents of a child. A child's life is shaped by both; the healtheir the co-operation between the two, the more fruitful their efforts.
