VANESSA MASENGOSOPHMORE | COMMUNICATIONS MAJORDEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

I was born and grew up in Lubumbashi city, in a family of seven children—one boy and six girls. I’m the sixth-born. My father

was a civil servant until retirement. He does not work anymore so my mother is the one trying her best to take care of us. I

am very thankful for your help with my school fees. I hope to impact my family and community once I graduate. I want to be

able to support my parents and siblings financially, and even with knowledge. My community (does not have many) influential

people and I hope to be one of the first. I want to lead with wisdom and the knowledge I am pursuing now.

JULIANA VINTENABASENIOR | SOCIOLOGY MAJORNIGERIA

I am a spirited young lady with aspirations and an ambition to be great in life and make a difference. Groomed to be

responsible and honest, I never tend to forget where I come from. The successful completion of my degree in Sociology (will)

help me build my career as a social worker and a human rights activist, which would be my own little way of giving back to the

community. I would love to make a positive impact on everyone from the poor peasant to the rich elite.

NAOMY NKOYSOPHMORE| HEALTH SERVICES MGT.DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

I am 26 years old and the first of three children. Our parents died when I was eight, so we grew up in the care of our grandmother. After

high school, I married a Zimbabwean soldier who deployed in my country during the war. I now have two children but my husband has left

me. I am left to take care of my children on my own.

Thank you for assisting me to acquire a high quality education. After graduating, I would like to focus on helping disadvantaged people,

especially the blind. I have observed that the children of the blind are not going to school as they wonder in the streets begging. Also being

the first born, once I graduate, I will be able to take full responsibility for my family’s needs and be an exemplary mother to my children. I

want to make my children proud of me because that means the world to me.

ELISA QUELENDESENIOR | PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION / MANAGEMENT MAJORANGOLA

I sincerely would like to thank you all for your support in paying my fees. May God bless you and your families for your

contributions to my career and for making my dream come to life at Africa University. I joined Africa University in August

2013, and did my Intensive English. Intensive English has been very helpful to me as it has enhanced my skills. In the future, I

want to become an Ambassador of Angola as well as a politician.

I am a third-year student and I’m looking forward to graduating in 2018. I come from a family of nine. My parents are not

thank you very much.

NYARADZO RUWOSOPHMORE | ACCOUNTING MAJORZIMBABWE

It is a great honor writing you this letter, appreciating all that you are doing for me. I am humbled to be a recipient of your scholarship, since

for some it remains a dream to have one. I am living the dream and I will make the best of it. This is a sacrifice I will never take for granted.

Not only will I stay dedicated to my school work, I also promise to be a disciplined student who values a good name and someone of

substance who will be a role model to others. This scholarship is also a standard set for me as an individual to give back to my community in

any way I can.

PAMBI JATUTUSENIOR | PSYCHOLOGY MAJORNIGERIA

I am currently doing a one-year internship, to gain practical exposure in my field prior to my final year. After graduating from Africa University,

I look forward to getting a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. It’s a discipline that I am passionate about because many of our African

youth are suffering from mental illness. I aspire to assist in caring for the mentally ill as my way of giving back. I am very overwhelmed with joy

to be a beneficiary of this scholarship program. Thank you for turning my life around.

has brought my dreams to life, where they were once shattered. I am really grateful. After completing my undergraduate degree this year, I

hope to pursue my master’s degree.
