AFTER-SCHOOL DANCE GRADES PK - 8 This program operates ANNUALLY during the school year.

Pine Crest’s after school dance program will focus on technique, body control, memorization, strength and flexibility along with a combination of music and fun. Our program operates year-round concluding with one spectacular recital towards the end of the school year. This showcase featuring all of our after-school dancers is typically held in March. More information will be distributed later throughout the year. All Pre-Kindergarten through Third Grade students enrolled in our After-School Dance program will be picked up from their homeroom classes immediately at the end of the school day. They will then proceed to the state of the art Dance Studio where students will eat a healthy snack and then change for class. All Fourth through Eighth Grade students will have the opportunity to get their homework done and then proceed to the studio for their scheduled class. Pick up is immediately following each class outside the Zimmerman Family Athletic Complex. Students who are not picked up at that time will be escorted to Extended Day. Please be advised that there is a specific dress code for all students enrolled in after-school dance classes. You will receive this information when signing up for the class. Activities: All after-school dance classes will provide your dancer with a positive nurturing environment that will help students gain self-confidence along with build respect and love for the art of dance. Class sizes are limited, so sign up soon to guarantee a spot in the class. Pine Crest is striving to provide a solid dance education in the fundamental dance disciplines as well as introduce students to the most updated methods and styles. We look forward to working with your young dancers and are excited to begin our new season of our after school dance program. All classes are determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note there are no scheduled classes on half days of school or on school holidays. The first half of the payment will be billed to your account in September. This payment will cover classes from September through December. The second payment will be charged to your account in January, and will cover classes from January through May.

TENNIS PROGRAMS GRADES K - 8 This program typically operates ANNUALLY during the school year.

Whether you are interested in competing at the tournament level or you simply want to build your skills to play social tennis, Pine Crest’s coaches will work with you to create a learning track to meet your needs. Want to practice five days a week, or just two days a week? Do you want to take tennis instead of PE, or play longer after school, or even both? It’s up to you and what fits your schedule. Tennis is one of the few sports that are a lifelong game. What you learn about the game at Pine Crest will serve you well into your future. The PC tennis coaches love the game of tennis, and they help build that love in all their students as well. Unlike many other sports, tennis relies on the individual. In tennis it’s all up to you! Learn how to build your athletic skills and your problem solving skills all while having a whole lot of fun!

After-School Tennis Programs Junior Panther Clinic: This program is designed for the beginner to the intermediate player to help develop a love of tennis in a fun atmosphere. Emphasis is on eye-hand coordination, balance, technique and footwork. Other aspects of the game that are covered include scoring, rallying and match play. Students may attend one or as many as five days a week. Kindergarten and first grade students will be picked up in their neighborhoods at 3:15 p.m. Second through eighth graders will meet the coaches in the playground at dismissal. High Performance Panther Clinic: The high performance clinic is designed for the competitive player who is interested in playing tournaments and wants to take their game to the next level. Technique is stressed during competitive live ball drills and match play. Strategy, mental toughness, conditioning and footwork are all emphasized.

IN ADDITION TO AFTER-SCHOOL TENNIS, WE ALSO OFFER LESSONS DURING SCHOOL HOURS. During School Hours: Both fed ball and live ball drills are the focus of this class while emphasizing all aspects of the game. Lessons include racket skills, stroke development, footwork, tennis games and match play. Pre-kindergarten through second grade students can schedule one or as many as four classes a week in place of physical education. Third through eighth grade students can schedule one or as many as five classes per week.

For lesson appointments or if you have specific questions about our

After-School Tennis program, please contact Coach Kadera at 561-852-2844.

POWER UP GRADES 6 - 8 This program typically operates THREE sessions during the school year.

The key to a healthy life includes a regular fitness program. This should be incorporated into children’s lives at an early age. As our students grow, it's important for them to know how to keep their bodies healthy and conditioned, not just for the physical benefits, but for the mental acuity it provides and the emotional confidence that can be achieved. Power Up is offered after school for students in Grades 6-8. The program will take place on the field and in the weight room from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. The students will learn proper form for various exercises which will be combined into regular fitness routines that can be done anywhere. The exercises will include multi-modalities such as resistance bands, plyometrics, gymnastics, body weight exercises and light dumbell workouts. Students will understand the importance of fueling muscles with proper nutrition and how to create balanced, toned fitness. Coach Weidenfeld will meet your child in the dining room at the end of the school day for a snack. The students will be picked up from there and taken to the class. All classes will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pick up will be in the front of the Lower School building on the North side of campus.

If you have specific questions about our Power Up program, please contact the Ms. Weidenfeld directly at 561.852.2823.

EXTENDED DAY GRADES PK - 6

This program is available Annually, Semi-Annually, or Daily during the school year. We offer Extended Day to families with children enrolled in our Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Operating from 3:15 to 5:45 p.m. on full class days, Extended Day is designed to be a convenient and helpful service to our parents - and fun for our young students! Our charges are designed to cover the cost of staffing, materials and supplies, and the use of campus facilities and equipment. Most families select our full-year enrollment option, which offers a significant discount over semester payments. Daily and/or last minute enrollment options are also available.

Continued on the next page.

EXTENDED DAY CONTINUED GRADES PK - 6 Please note that use of the Extended Day service, for 30 minutes or less, has a daily charge regardless of the time spent in the program. A late pick-up charge will be applied from 5:45 to 6:00 p.m. An additional charge will automatically be applied for every half hour starting at 6:00 p.m. regardless of the overage. If you need to use our Extended Day program as a last minute resource due to certain uncontrollable circumstances that will not allow you to pick up your child at the regular school dismissal time, you are more than welcome to do so. Please contact the school’s main office and inform them of your need, and we will send your child to the Extended Day Program. Extended Day is available on any full day of classes. The children will go to the Dining Hall at the end of the school day and an afternoon snack will be provided. Sample Activities Might Include: Arts & Crafts, Board Games, Computers, Movies, Playground, Nintendo Wii Games, and Recreational Reading. Homework Time: As a part of the Extended Day Program, supervised homework and study time is available for our students. Parents, please note that this is NOT a tutoring session and that students should plan their time wisely to complete their work on their own during this time. Coordination with Other Campus Programs: Flexibility is a prime objective of Extended Day. Children can first go to an After-School Enrichment class, club or activity, swimming, tennis lessons, or teachers’ extra-help sessions, and then enter the Extended Day Program for the remainder of the afternoon until pick up. Parents should be sure to tell the teacher, coach or club sponsor to pass their children on to Extended Day when the activity is finished, and they should also make the Extended Day staff aware that the children are to join the program that day. Students may not remain on campus after dismissal from other activities without supervision. Children not picked up on time from these activities will be taken to Extended Day and charged the daily fee. Pick Up: Children may be picked up any time before 5:45 p.m. but must be collected directly from the Extended Day staff. Since staff must stay until all children are picked up, there is a substantial late charge automatically added to a student’s account for pick up after 5:45 p.m.

If you have specific questions about our Extended Day program, please call the Extended Day line directly at 561-883-6830.
