she is the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic from east to west.

It is not a biography but rather a memoir chronicling her experiences growing up in Kenya (then British East Africa), including her friendship with an African boy and her career, first as a horse trainer and later as a bush pilot.

If you want something, go get it, as long as you have firm determination, you will succeed in the end.

The author analyzes the reasons why some people easily feel nervous.

Then offers several specific ways for these people to control their moods and become calm so as to confront difficulties positively.

The major way to get rid of negative thoughts, such as anxiety, fear and confusion, is to cultivate a sense of security at the bottom of heart.

1. self-communion.

2. forming a habit of making associations with wonderful things.

3. helping others;

It is a story in memory of the past family life when the author’s father was diagnosed as serious heart disease. The threat of death prevails in every scene of the story where the mutual care, love and support from all the family members are the light that shines the darkness. It is a thought-provoking story that centers on life and death, love and gratitude.

The spirit of perseverance: No matter how many times the author’s father hovers on the edge of death, he always keeps positive and clings tenaciously to life.

More love, less regret: Try harder to love our family so that we won’t regret when they leave us finally.

Dear Andrew is an epistolary book which consists of 36 electronic letters between Long Yingtai and her son, Andrew. In order to know more about each other after parting for a long time, they write e-mails to talk about the daily happenings as well as some deeper issues such as the cultural differences between the east and the west, generation gap, pop culture and so on.

What impresses me most is the moment when they talk about their wishes for the future. Andrew asked his mother to accept the fact that he is banal and asked her whether she would be disappointed or not. Long Yingtai was shocked at the moment, but she answered in this way: “I don’t care whether you can achieve a lot or not; what I matters most is whether you are happy or not and whether you can have a meaningful life and your own free time for thinking or not; a man strives for the inner peace and contentment, rather than comparing with others.” Her answer really moved me a lot and I began to ask myself “Do I do it for self-improvement or just for competing with others?” every time when I decide to do something.

These Are the Love You've Given Me written by Anthony, illustrated by Echo

It is a story about love, journey, and growth. The bunny boy went on a journey after receiving a heart-broken letter from his girlfriend and tried to look for a blooming tree. During the journey, he made new friends and found new meaning to life and love.

His careful observation about things around us and creative as well as vivid figurations impressed me a lot.

“Spring tickles your nose. Summer whooshes through your sleeves. The sky stands high in the fall. By the time we realize, most of the winter has passed” (让鼻子发痒的春天,风从袖中过的是夏天,天空凛然耸立的是秋天,等到发觉的时候,冬天已经过去了大半。)

From these sentences I can feel the writer’s passion for life and I realized that to appreciate things around is a positive lifestyle. It makes us cherish what we own.

the flowers in the schoolyard, soft breeze, lovely sunshine,    All the things we take for granted are a blessing that we should

cherish.

Kong Lifu : shares interests with Mulan

Zeng Sunya has a “round” character and is more easy-going.

In addiction, his family is well off.

If I were Yao Mulan。。。。Zeng Sunya or Kong Lifu?
