Reading Books for Phase 2 in 'Letters and Sounds' Dandelion Launchers is a new Synthetic Phonics reading series for
beginner readers at Foundation Stage. It comprises twenty eight
books, four books at each of seven levels.
The books precede and supplement the Dandelion Readers series.
Dandelion Launchers can be used with any phonics programme.
• The series offers the beginner reader one line of text at CVC
(consonant-vowel-consonant) word level.
• Each level introduces new sounds of the alphabet and includes the sounds in previous
levels.
• At every stage the reader can read four different books.
• Each book includes a clear explanation on how to read with Synthetic Phonics and a game
to motivate the reader and consolidate phonic skills.
• With delightful illustrations and entertaining stories, the books encourage the beginner
reader to blend sounds into words.
• The reader experiences success at every level an discovers the thrill of independent
reading from the very beginning.
