Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Is my investment making money?

A1. The "Cumulative Account Gain (+) / Loss (-)" numbers in

Part A show the investment returns since you joined the Scheme. Positive figures indicate that you have recorded gains, and negative figures mean losses. You may refer to "Movement in Valuation of Underlying Investments" in Part B for the return during the statement month.

Note: The account gain/loss figures shown in this statement are unrealized returns. Your actual return will depend on the fund prices and foreign exchange rates (if any) at which you subsequently sell your fund(s).

Note: "Vested Benefit" represents the dollar value of your GPFS account balances vested to you according to the Scheme rules as at statement end date, assuming that you leave employment for reasons other than retirement, ill-health retirement, death or summary dismissal. "Vesting percentage" represents the percentage of benefits you are entitled to as at statement end date. Such percentage for your company account varies with the length of your service. For details, please refer to the Member’s Booklet.
