Dear Ami,
As we edge closer to the Summer months, we find thatonce again our lives are in a state of transition. The schoolyear is wrapping up for children of all ages, summer workschedules are starting for parents, and of course, everyone is moving their activities outside for the long-awaited warm weather! As with any time of transition, stress plays a strong role in our lives and can causeminimal to massive disruption. Stay hydrated, keep cooland be kind to yourself and others as we all enter thistransition period. Your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and even strangers will thank you for it!
Ready For a Full Nest?

All of asudden, children and teens areat home more when the schoolyear ends and college studentsreturn home for the summer.Instead of the "empty nest,"many families are experiencingthe "full nest." For some families, this is a joyful time of reconnecting andconversation, and for others, it is a time of struggle andconflict. For all, it is a time of transition! How do younavigate the changes? Meet The Therapist:Mary Yost
As a therapist for over 25 years,Mary has embraced her naturallycurious and compassionatepersonality to embrace hercalling to witness the growthand healing of others. She isfascinated by people's mindswork and consistently astoundedby the circumstances thatdevelop in a single lifetime. As a dedicated dancer who was pursuing a psychologydegree, Mary found a way to intertwine two of herpassions into one with dance therapy. Her version focuseson awareness of your body and a return to the traditionaluse of the body, which is based in touch and movement."In today's modern world, we often aren't listening to ourbodies, so dance therapy gives us a chance to go back tothose grounded, innate impulses," explains Mary. "Dancetherapy can also be used for groups by incorporating yogaand meditation which are considered more mainstreammethods of therapy." She finds it particularly useful whendrug addiction is present, especially if this addiction stemsfrom pain management through medication, which is agrowing epidemic of current times.
If you are considering therapy and feel that Mary Yostwould be a great match to your personality, needs andgrowth, please contact Cal Genzel, Director of ClinicalServices, at [email protected] or 603-627-2702 ext. 116.
