Sedro-Wooley: Visiting Sedro-Woolley’s historic downtown is a trip back in time. Brick
buildings, fronted with comfortable wood benches beneath old-fashioned light poles are
the backdrop for the numerous chainsaw carvings and murals depicting the city’s colorful
past.
Baker Lake: An impressive mountain landscape on the southeast flanks of Mt. Baker's
slopes offers year-round recreational fun. Find fishing, boating, camping and other
recreational activities.
Winthrop: The Methow Valley, in north central Washington, extends from Pateros to
Mazama. Winthrop is located in the northern portion of this valley at MP 193 of SR 20, the
scenic North Cascades Highway.
Lake Chelan: The largest natural lake in Washington State.
Leavenworth: Bavaria beckons in beautiful Leavenworth, Washington where festivals, fun
and outdoor frolics will have you singing from the mountains tops or maybe the wine shops,
art galleries, sausage gardens, ski lift, biking or hiking trails.

Fidalgo Island: Located about 60 mi north of Seattle. To the east, it is separated from the
mainland by the Swinomish Channel, and from Whidbey Island to the south by Deception
Pass.
The Skagit River Bald Eagle Natural Area offers viewing opportunities along
the Skagit River for bald eagles and other wildlife. There is a short trail
from the parking area to the edge of the river.
Everett, Mukilteo, Snohomish, Monroe The Cascade Loop begins in the
bustling port city of Everett, located just 28 miles north of Seattle via I-5.

Washington Pass and Rainy Pass are two mountain passes on State Route
20 in the North Cascades mountains of Washington State. Rainy Pass is
about 4 miles to the west of Washington Pass.
Deception Pass is Washington’s most-visited state park for a reason.
Mysterious coves, rugged cliffs, jaw-dropping sunsets and a stomach-
dropping high bridge make this park a must see on this route.

What to Watch Out For: Be advised that there are no fuel
stations for 70 miles stretching from S.R. 20
(Marblemount to Mazama).
Best Time To Go: Middle of April - Middle of November
North Cascades Highway is closed to travelers in the
winter near Ross Dam Trailhead (MM 134 to MM 171)
