1. Connect through the VPN

2. Connect to your given server with your user account

3. Connect to your given database with your user account

Steps


Connecting to the servers

• Once connected to the VPN, connect to the Exadata system with ssh

– ssh userXXY@<loginserver>


Connecting to the Database

• From a terminal (ssh or VNC)

– For the Optimizer Exercise • sqlplus optXXY/optXXY

– For the DW Exercise • sqlplus dwXXY/dwXXY


Enterprise Manager Access

EM URL

http://slcc39adm07.us.oracle.com:1158/em

• Everyone uses the same EM URL

• Continue to login to EM using teamXX/teamXX

Browser Access

• All accounts have a directory named http_visible in their home directory

• Place files in there that you want to view via a browser:

– AWR reports

– dbms_sqltune output

– etc.

• Visible via a browser at http://<loginServer>.us.oracle.com/userXXY
