HOT IN THE CITY: BILLY IDOL English born rocker Billy Idol, rose to fame in the 70s as leader of punk rock band, Generation X. He then embarked on a solo career which led to international success. Billy Idol became one of the original artists that appeared on the newly launched MTV. His debut album released in ’82 yielded huge hits like ‘White Wedding’, ‘Dancing with Myself’ and ‘Hot in the City’.

NINE INCH NAILS ANNOUCE TOUR
Industrial Goth Rockers, Nine Inch Nails, have just announced their new global tour which will include 2 Nights at The Joint in Las Vegas, plus London’s iconic venue Royal Albert Hall this summer. Nine Inch Nails achieved worldwide success in the 1990s for their albums, The Downward Spiral and The Fragile. while their most recent EP, Add Violence, was released to critical acclaim last year. The second in a series of three, it follows December 2016’s Not the Actual Events, with Reznor hinting that a third instalment could be coming later this year!

X-JAPAN LIVE! Yes, the most successful rock band in Japan, selling over 30 million records and selling out behemoth stadium gigs 18 times over, X-Japan are about to take the Coachella stage this month. With headline acts including Beyonce, Cardi B and Eminem, this is some USA debut for the band! X-Japan will continue to tour the States later this Spring plus they have partnered with the Grammy Museum for a special screening of their documentary, ‘We are X’. The band also announced two 10th Anniversary shows that will feature very special guests, Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit and Richard Fortus from Guns n Roses. Rock n Roll!

EAZY DUZ IT Eazy E, AKA ‘The Godfather of Gangsta Rap’, released his debut album, ‘Eazy Duz It’ 30 years ago. The West Coast rapper also co-founded rap group NWA with Dr Dre and Ice Cube and together they laid down the blueprint of what they called then ‘reality rap’. After his death in 1995, Eazy E is still a huge influence over current rap and urban artists. Kendrik Lamar said “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Eazy and I wouldn’t be able to say the things that I say, talk about my community the way I talk about it, for good or for bad.”
