rebuilding together tampa bay annual report (fy 2013-2014)
DESCRIPTION
ÂTRANSCRIPT
Dear Friends and Supporters,
We have successfully ended another year providing a wealth of services to
homeowners in need. This year was particularly rewarding as we increased
the number of homes completed while transitioning to a more experienced
team. Moving forward, we’ll have adequate support towards our growth
without sacrificing the quality of our work and services. The expansion of
our internal staff capacity has also allowed us the opportunity to increase
our outreach efforts, thus making a substantial difference in many more
lives. Let’s not forget the impact we made in the lives of our local
heroes in November of 2013. One local veteran, in particular, and his
three daughters received extensive repairs to their home with the
support of our national and local partners, as well as in-kind donors.
Witnessing their gratitude and appreciation of knowing they have a
safer home was very rewarding.
Another exciting moment was the kickoff of the “Building Community
Together” initiative with Sears Home Services and DIY expert and TV
personality, Ty Pennington. More than 100 volunteers came together to
renovate an old church that will be converted into the Tampa Heights
Youth Development and Community Center, aimed at
offering children and young adults expanded access to education,
information, training and other resources in a safe, friendly and
functional environment. Meanwhile, we also witnessed the
substantial rehab services provided to four additional homeowners
in the neighborhood on the same day.
Many homeowners from Tampa to St. Petersburg are now living in
a healthier and safer home because of your support, whether
financially or through your volunteer efforts. This is what makes
Rebuilding Together an effective tool at having a positive impact
on the lives of low-income communities in Tampa Bay.
A new year is upon us, and it is our hope that you continue to
help us further our mission as we successfully reach many more
goals through additional partnerships, support from existing and
future sponsors and the commitment of our staff and Board of
Directors.
We invite you to join us as we continue to revitalize lives and
communities by providing safer, healthier and more
energy-efficient housing to a larger number of low-income
families and individuals in 2015.
Thank you for all of your past support and future
contributions towards our efforts.
What I think is amazing about the ‘Building Community Together’ initiative is that you have local people helping to improve the lives of their neighbors.

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay | Annual Report 2013–2014 | 9
Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is proud to celebrate its 15 year anniversary in 2015. More importantly, we’re most
proud of being able to make a difference in our community. Our commitment extends beyond just rehabbing a home.
We aim to preserve homeowners’ hopes, pride and love of community for many more years. Read on to learn about
some exciting projects we will be launching in 2015!
Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs – This program is specific to residents of the Sulphur Springs neighborhood in
the City of Tampa. It will provide repairs and modifications (free of charge) to owner and tenant-occupied homes.
The program includes a healthy home component, entitled the Healthy Home Service Package, wherein the homes
of program participants will be thoroughly assessed and will receive the necessary installation of housing materials
ensuring they have healthier, safer and more energy-efficient living conditions. We anticipate the “Building a
Healthier” concept will become a turnkey program for other neighborhoods in the future.
100 Roofs campaign – A healthy home starts with a healthy roof. Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay will aim to completely
replace 100 roofs for deserving homeowners. It’s a huge endeavor, but we dream big at RTTB and will do everything
we can to fulfill this dream.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR RTTB?

I had many doubts and was actually in
disbelief this could actually be
happening. Soon after working with Jose
and the staff at RTTB, those doubts
turned into hopes and an overwhelming
feeling of gratitude that my prayers had
been answered.
