“Rebus: Tutorial”Creating online tutorials for

your own resources

a presentation by Aurélie Gandourfor CILIP’s Lib Tech Meet (12/11/2014)

I have been beta testing rebus: tutorial from PTFS

... which shall be available fairly soon.

I like it quite a lot so here is why...

It allows you to create "tutorials" for your online resources

Students can follow instructions while performing a task for the first time.

Students can follow instructions while performing a task for the first time.

... like a guided tour of the resource.

The “tutorial” part

Your website / online resource

Why I like it

Entirely Online – teacher and students only use their Web browsers

(= No need to install anything at all.)

Extremely simple of use

(= If you know how to use Word, it should be easy for you to use it!)

Write your text here.

And modify your layout with those

simple tools.

Somewhat interactive

i.e., you can add

a simple Q&A

And give some feedback to your

students

To Sum Up:

• Create tutorials

• Like guided tours of your resources

• It’s entirely online,

• Easy to use

• And interactive

Rebus: Tutorial has been adapted from

a free software called “Guide on the Side”

You can have a look and download it here:
