Come Christians All Rejoice
1. Come Christians all, rejoice and sing, With thankful hearts your praises bring, Risen is now our Lord and King. Alleluia.
R. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
2. On Sunday morn, at break of day, The sad disciples made their way, Seeking the place where Jesus lay. Alleluia. R.
3. Now let us thank the Lord most high, And with our praises fill the sky, For Christ is risen, no more to die. Alleluia. R.
In Bread We Bring you, Lord…
1. In bread we bring you, Lord, our bodies’ labour. In wine we offer you spirit’s grief; We do not ask you, Lord, who is my neighbour. But stand united now, one in belief.
2. Oh we have gladly heard your Word, your Holy Word; And now in answer, Lord, our gifts we bring; Our selfish hearts make true, our failing faith renew, Our lives belong to you, our Lord and King.
Though We are Many
Refrain: Though we are many, we are one body, we who come to share this living bread; Cup of salvation, shared among all nations, nourishing us now and evermore.
1. We gather in this place round the table of the Lord. Christ's presence is revealed in our communion and his Living Word. R.
Queen of the May
1. Bring flowers of the rarest, bring blossoms the fairest; From garden and woodland and hillside and dale; Our full hearts are swelling, our glad voices telling; The praise of the loveliest flower of the vale
R. Oh Mary we crown Thee with blossoms to-day; Queen of the angels and queen of the May; Oh Mary we crown Thee with blossoms to-day; Queen of the angels and queen of the May
2. Our lady they name Thee, Their mistress proclaim Thee; Oh grant that Thy children on earth be as true; As long as the bowers are radiant with flowers; As long as the azure shall keep its bright hue. R.

All Welcome.
May is the month we associate with First Holy Communion. There is a palpable sense of excitement among the children preparing for the big day. Some of it rubs off on families too – it is a real milestone in life and in some sense a “rite of passage” in Irish life. Those of you who attend the eleven o’clock Mass on Sunday morning will have noticed that on the one Sunday a month that we celebrate the “Do This in Memory” Mass, the numbers of parents and children attending are greatly increased. Some parents live outside the parish and make the effort to come to Mass in Crumlin for this special mass. Other parents have commitments with their children and sport on Sunday morning and so do not normally attend Mass at that time. Some parents who do not attend Mass on a regular basis make a special effort during this time. Another element of the Do This in Memory programme is a special candle that each child was given at the beginning of the programme back in October. Each child is encouraged to set up a small “sacred space” at home – and with a parent, to light their candle every day and say a prayer together. In addition, a very user friendly booklet on how to understand the Mass and how to pass on this understanding to children was given to parents. The Do This in Memory Programme then is an attempt by the parish to welcome and assist parents and their families during this special year. The gospel this Sunday uses the metaphor of the vine and branches and the word “remain in me” occurs many times to try to bring us to a deeper understanding of the life offered to us through communion with Christ and with each other. Let us hope and pray that at least some of those who take part in the parish preparation programme for First Holy Communion this year come to a deeper experience of this life and wish to stay connected to their faith community. That way we will all be enriched –and challenged. Gráinne Prior
