    Role Title: Receptionist / Admin Typically reports to36.25 hours per week - 8am to 3.45pm (with a 30min unpaid break)

    Term time only plus one week, Band 2 (14,733 to 16,054 pro-rata)

    Purpose of the role (job statement)

    To provide a welcoming, efficient and effective Reception service to the School and to support Student Servicesas required as directed by the Headteacher and Governors

    Principal Specific Responsibilities

    Reception Duties:

    To be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the school reception area, ensuring that allenquiries are dealt with in a professional, courteous and timely manner at all times and that the foyer

    and office areas are kept in a safe and tidy condition at all times To act as a first point of contact, dealing with telephone enquiries and written communications from

    staff, parents and other stakeholders showing due regard for confidentiality.

    To liaise with the Site Manager regarding any changes to opening and closing times of school.

    Cover reception for Parents Evening and school events on a Rota Basis.

    Administer the booking systems for the Schools Mini Bus.

    Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail and parcels, including franking of the post.

    Liaise with external agencies such as the school nurse, dentist, EWO

    To order school supplies and stationery in a timely manner ensuring compliance with School procedures.

    Student Services Duties:

    To assist with maintaining all pupil records and files within the school and maintaining computerisedrecords on SIMs and Excel

    Assist with monitoring students attendance and updating computerised records on SIMs.

    Retrieving pupil data, such as timetables, from the Schools Information Management System as required.

    To assist with the administration of dinner money, collection, and the maintenance of appropriaterecords using Impact.

    To assist with meeting the individual medical needs of children e.g. inhalers, allergies are clearly set outand communicated through school

    Dealing with pupil enquiries

    Assist with admin support using, Excel, Word, Powerpoint

    Using the photocopier, printer or fax machine as required which will include the collation and finishingof documents and promotional material to agreed timescales and standards.

    Any reasonable office task may be requested by the Line Manager or Senior Leadership team as the needarises

    To attend relevant courses and meetings in order to remain informed and up to date

    Indicative qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience

    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel - Essential.

    Experience of working in a busy Reception environment - Desirable

    Excellent communication skills, written and verbal - Essential

    Experience of SIMS software would be an advantage - Desirable

    Awareness of the requirements of the Data Protection Act and of Safeguarding Children - Desirable

    Ability to establish effective working relationships with young people andcolleagues at all levels. - Essential
