MIGRATING CS 8 PROJECTS
TOP TIPS:
Projects are NOT backward compatible
You can open CS 8 in 9…but not the other way
1. Don’t MOVE projects or files
2. Make a BACKUP copy first
3. Open CS 8 projects in CS 9
4. Say YES to create a backup copy
5. Check all your timeline assets & Find lost files

o Recorder Defaults for Saving
o Library is a “do-over”
o Producing is different – no File option
o Some Hot Keys are different i.e. Go To End needs CTRL, Markers, etc.
o No Timeline scroll arrows
o Horizontal Scroll bars are thin & hard to grab sometimes
o Edit text on Canvas only
o Audio editing options – Add Audio Point & Silence
o No Save Colors from Color Picker
o Can’t Save voice narration to WAV (m4a only?)
NOTES
o Recorder Defaults for Saving
o Can’t scale to 0%
o Renaming Markers isn’t double-click
o No alternative SmartPlayer choices
o No Flash support for SmartPlayer
o No X, Y, Z Spinner Wheels (use arrow keys & SHIFT key)
o Shrink Track Size is weak (compare to CS 8)
o NO MOV Support!!
o Spellcheck?
o Time indicator removed from Canvas
