Bergen Challenge
Bergen Challenge is Norway’s largest and
greatest student sports festival. Every second
year, we gather students from all over Norway
to participate in different sports tournaments,
in addition to enjoying a selection of cultural
activities. This year Bergen Challenge takes
place from Thursday October 11th to Sunday
October 14th.
Bergen Challenge 2012 is hosting fourteen
different tournaments this year, both
individual athletes and teams can participate
in the games. The cultural part of Bergen
Challenge starts with a spectacular opening
ceremony and ends with a great banquet for
all the participants.
Bergen Challenge has a lot of exciting
positions available. It doesn’t matter if you are
a sports fan, photografer or a party animal, we
do have a position for everyone. This is a great
chance for you to contribute to the student
union, get to know a lot of new people, and
have great fun along the way. You can meet us
at Merino or Service this week, so swing by for
some freebies and a nice chat. Remember the

Do you rather be behind the camera than in
front of it? Are YouTube one of your favorite
Internet sites? And are you an outgoing and
creative person? Then you are welcome to
join the video team!
Bergen Challenge is a fantastic sports festival,
and we would like to make sure it is
remembered for all eternity. To be able to do
this, we need six video officers to capture
these four days on film. You will work in
teams of two; one interviewing while the
other is filming. We do also need people to
edit the footage. Some experience with
filming or editing is an advantage, but it is not
a requirement. Does this sound like an
interesting task? Apply for a position in the
Video group now!
Photo
12 Photographers
Do you love taking beautiful pictures? Do you
want to learn more about sports
photography? Or perhaps you are familiar
with Photoshop? Then the Photo team has a
position for you!
As a Photographer in Bergen Challenge it is
your task to make sure every part of this
amazing sports festival is captured on photo.
You will get the chance to take beautiful
photos of a magnificent firework musical,
intense photos of competing athletes and
funny pictures of people dressed up for a
theme party. Throughout the four days of
Bergen Challenge you will be able to learn a
lot and try a lot of different photo techniques.
You do not need any experience, just a
positive attitude and an outgoing and creative
personality! If you would like to be where it all

Are you an outgoing and service minded
person? Do you want to learn how to make
Norwegian waffles? And would you like the
sound of cheerleading and team-spirit to
surround you at all times? Then we would love
for you to apply for a position as a Sales
Officer!
Through Bergen Challenge we will have our
own kiosks at every arena, and we need 26
positive and outgoing Sales Officers to work in
these kiosks during the tournament. In
addition to selling food and beverages to tired
and hungry athletes, you will also help with
information sharing and other important
tasks. It is essential that you are a positive and
helpful person with a smile in hand for every
occasion. Do you want to meet a lot of
people, have fun and enjoy Bergen Challenge
while actually helping out? Then you should
apply for a position as a Sales Officer!

imagine yourself dancing in a costume at
Torgallmenningen in the middle of the
afternoon? Do you have a lot of energy? And
are you addicted the spotlight? If so, then you

The Baluba group is our main promotion
committee during Bergen Challenge. As a
Baluba Officer it is your task to make sure that
every athlete and supporter is having a great
time. To make this happen you will plan and
execute a lot of exciting stunts. It is also your
task to make sure that everyone in Bergen has
heard about Bergen Challenge. How are you
going to make this happen? That is entirely up
to you and your group! So if you want to use
your energy on something fun and crazy, then

Opening Ceremony

As an Opening Ceremony Officer it will be

Opening Ceremony goes smoothly. You will
help out with sound, light and security, in
addition to be a creative part in the planning
process of this incredible night, which will end

1 Security Coordinator

Are you trustworthy and responsible? Do you
actually like to stay up all night and sleep all
day? And would you like to experience Bergen
Challenge from within? Then you should apply
now!
As a Security Coordinator or Officer it will be
your main task to make sure that our
equipment is safe when the last beer is sold
and everyone else is asleep. It is not a difficult
task, but it is an important one. And the fun
part is that you can play cards, read a book or
watch a movie while doing it! If you would like
some extra responsibility, then you should
apply for the position as a Security
Coordinator. This job involves organizing the
shifts, making sure everyone is doing their job
and taking control if something was to
happen. If necessary you would also help out
with other technical tasks. Are you organized
and solution oriented? Then I would love to
have you on my team!
Banquet

Are you an outgoing and positive person? Do
you always make sure everyone at your party
is having a blast? And can you handle a lot of
things happening at once? If so, then you’ll be
a perfect fit for the banquet group!
The Banquet is the last event in Bergen
Challenge 2012, and I want to make this a
magical night. To able to do this I need 10
service minded and outgoing Banquet Officers
on my team! As a Banquet Officer it will be
your task to make sure that everything goes
according to plan this evening. Almost 1500
people will attend this year’s banquet in
Grieghallen, and it is our job to make sure that
every single one of them is having an amazing
time. You need to be able to handle stress
well and always put a smile on your face no
matter what happens. Does this sound like
